Salary changes so in several years he will be paid around 6-7 million which is value costs for a first or send pairing d-man. He is still at present good value in comparison to other d-man in the league. Look what Weegar provides and his contract next year goes up to $6.25 million. Next year Huberdeau & Weegar equal just under $17 million. About the same as Nurse and Dria for 1/4 of the return and value on the ice.

I wouldn't go that far, but @ their pay it might about equal. slight edge to Nurse. 22 points this year vs 12. And Nurse plays 23 minutes a night vs Zad's 18. Get Nurse closer to 20 per and I am sure of his deficiencies are lessened. Get Zad's closer to 20 and his are exploited. The depth between the 2 blue lines however is a great difference. And considering the flames supposedly have a perennial Vezina candidate behind that blue line vs Edmontons 2 backups...

IN your comparison of Nurse and Weegar you forgot about the Drai and Huberdeau comparison. There is none and Oilers still have Drai at 8+ million for two years and Huberdeau at $10.25. That's a 4-5 million differential regardless of the product on the ice.
