I see Dumba is scratched tonight...
Yes, Dumba has had his issues, is a UFA at end of year, makes 6m and is right handed, but....
Defenseman swap? Provorov, Sanheim....maybe Risto. I know very stupid, but if the Flyers (more important Fletcher) can pull out another asset?
Provorov for Dumba and ?
Could they pull Rossi in that deal? I just can't see Dumba being that high value at TDL.
Thoughts? Never gonna happen? Dumba worth more? Dreaming? |

Ok no problem. But Seabs was paired with Keith. Maybe I misunderstood your original post about Hjalmarsson. I read it to mean he and Keith were a pair. - boilermaker100
He was paired with Keith in the '15 run. Otherwise he spent most of his time w/ Oduya as a shutdown pair.

I don't know. I can't quite see Scott and Fletcher hoping they'd finish the year poorly.
IMO I don't even think Torts gives a f@ck about wins and losses this season. It's HOW did they win or HOW/WHY did they lose? I genuinely feel Torts is treating the year like an 82 game preseason. He'll see what works and what doesn't going into 23-24.
Which again is another odd thing going with management. The guy you brought into to coach isn't quite on the same page as you (Scott/Fletcher ).
Again like yourself, I'm speculating as well. Just my 2 cents and what I see/feel. - Pelle31Forever
Speculation is fun
I have barely watched anything this seasons such am not that qualified to comment (I did however go the opening night game, and say here that I was utterly sure this was not a bottom 5 team).
Overall I see the general theme of this ownership to be risk averse revenue maintenance. Lots of little things, which I have spoken about here ad nauseum before.
They are reasonably successful about that, as far as I can see. Attendance figures are rapidly climbing. Almost at 90% now. Every time I check, the % climbs.

No, you are correct, Keith and Seabrooke were mostly a pairing and I think Hjarmalsson played with Campbell some if I remember correctly.

near the bottom - hello it's me 2050
Yes, in % terms. But a lot of the teams have smaller arenas. I don't think the cost of running an arena is directly proportional to # of seats. Probably a large fixed cost and then rising at less than 1:1 with # of seats.
In raw attendance figures, 17th. And rising. Iirc, a Athletic article in late December had them averaging 16.8k. Now up to 17.1, which means they probably averages 18,000 odd since then. |

Would have been nice if the Flyers had Nisky for the duration of his 20s |

Especially when he was in Dallas, didn't he go with Crosby a few times before becoming teammates?

Hey whatever. Keith, Seabrook and Hammer won 3 Cups playing as defensemen for Chicago. Let's leave it at that. It's great discussing the good old days with you guys.
Question. Who did the Flyers select with the two second round picks Bowman gave you for Kimmo Timonen? |

Was it a few times? I recall that stick to head. It was discussed a lot when Nisky did that to Gallagher in '20 playoffs |

IIRC yeah.
It's just messed up that the Flyers still don't seem to understand what constitutes an effective modern defensive defenseman. A guy like RR is just totally wrong for the role and a guy like Braun only brings half the ingredients. |

It is below 90% and will not eclipse that by the end of the year. Think they finished last year at 85%. So they will show an increase and yet it is still a disgrace.

I'll take Seeler on the 3rd pair over Ristolainen. Save the cap and draft picks.

All good questions. They’re saying it’s because of his play in the Caps game and a trade is not imminent. But trust me they’re trying to trade him. Imo they want to get a forward for him preferably a center who can score. The Wild think Goligoski can take Dumba’s spot until Faber finishes his season at the U. Provorov is probably too expensive. |

Starting about the time he arrived in Pittsburgh. Nisky had an awesome rookie season in Dallas playing beside Zubov. But Zubov was injured the next year and retired shortly thereafter. He never found a rhythm or partner after that.

Well yea, but he would start higher than the 3rd pair I would think. When you're a bottom feeder. Need some cheap guys for the 3rd pair.
