Coots dropped off the list. Now zero Flyers. - Tomahawk
I think you would agree. Konecny belongs on that list.

Gotta get rid of Kevin Hayes somehow lol - Tomahawk
There's going to be a strong trade market for Hayes. Also Ristolainen is AGAIN, the Flyers best defenseman.

Tons of Flyers on that list - corduroy
All the top teams in the league have 4 or 5 players each. |

His defensive metrics dragged him down.

Flyers are playing the smart game, build the team with a bunch of tier 5 players so they have depth and balanced 200 foot game then sign an aging former top tier player to an expensive contract years down the road.

It's only a matter of time until the rest of the league figures out that they play Flyers hockey. That when they get off the bus, the opposition is in for a fight.

Bill, looks like your account was hacked by someone in Flyers’ upper management. - Quetzalcoatl
Now that’s funny 😆 but Bill is on a very difficult position and I think he is going as far has he can. Reading between the lines on his post you can get a good feel about his true opinions. |

Thanks Bill.
Patrick Kane has chosen a helluva year to fall off the cliff. Yes, I am aware of the reports of the LBI. But still.
Kyle Davidson must be gnashing his teeth. - PT21
Kane instead of JVR and Pronger not getting hurt. Pie 🥧 in the sky ☁️ |

I don't see anything changing with the way this org is run until a new owner is in place that demands this team compete for championships and not have just making the POs as its only goal.
In any successful business, accountability is instilled from the top down. Currently, there is none with this organization. I look forward to the day that changes because only then will things start to get better.

I agree …TK has been great this year. |

Interesting read. - MBFlyerfan
But this is a different animal. On the whole, the Flyers have lost 18 of 24 games this season against teams currently in a playoff spot (6-14-4) and are 12-5-3 against non-playoff teams

No. The worst position in the NHL to be in is at the bottom, drafting high year after year and yet missing the playoffs for a decade or more, all the while..
As for the Flyers, the answer is "I don't know". Even without Couturier and Atkinson, I think they presently have 9 bonafide top 9 forwards in their top 9. The issue is not having much by way of proven top 6. Two good young goalies. Five bonafide top 6 NHL defensemen and serviceable No. 7 currently slotted 6th. Decent farm system depth but no likely superstars.
Lots of cap mess to sort out. Still have to figure out hockey ops beyond this season.
Is it an ideal spot? Far from it. But it's not unfixable in a shorter time than a total tear-down, total rebuild project. - bmeltzer
I agree with you Bill, its not as bad as it seems. Going into next season the Flyers only have to resign potentially 2 players, Frost and Cates, and neither is going to get a huge contract. If the Flyers move Hayes they can free up about $4M so the Flyers could theoretically enter next season with about $10M in cap space which is healthy. The Flyers can fill some of their open roster spots with young players, because they have a decent farm system. Will the Flyers be a playoff team next season, probably not, but they will a developing team that can now accumulate cap space and that is actually a good place to be. |

See the big man's shorty last game, flying up the ice like he did? Admit it, Risto right now is playing the best of all the Flyers defenseman and the important metrics back that up. I told you that would be the case, that Torts would coach him up, now just admit you were wrong and everything will be fine. |

The only thing the Flyers are accumulating under Dave Scott is Jack and poop. And Jack’s left town.

This is where I disagree. I do not think this current management team will ever allow themselves to accumulate cap space.

He is not playing the best. He is also wisely being sheltered at 17 minutes a game. |

They have to resign York as well. You are a better man than I trusting they wont waste that cap space on some pie in the sky signing.
