That blows for him and the Habs, but maybe that improves their chances at Bedard. |

I'm far from a ban happy person, but there needs to be a line somewhere. I don't consider myself to be politically correct and I probably couldn't survive in today's corporate world, but some of the crap that was being spewed on here was very much ban worthy. Thanks! - Phillywhiteout

Agreed, outside shot at 50 goal season- one terrific accomplishment, 40 would have been awesome too. Feel awful for the guy.

that it will, Suzuki and Anderson are the only other players with more then 10 goals. Their offense is looking pretty inept.

Any of you guys see Ek's blog post that's up now? The one where he actually has the temerity to warn people of "misinformation"? Some of the comments in there are pure gold. I'm still laughing at that post. |

Yea, I saw it. I think Ek sometimes makes his own bed but he is pretty successful. He built this site and I'm sure he's making a good living. I think what he does is misunderstood a lot of times.

Full tank mode by Habs..apparantly been playing with this for awhile and plan was off season surgery but no sense in waiting. If they were in playoff hunt he doesn't get shut down |

Oh darn, you beat me. - SuperSchennBros You almost sound happy that he's injured. That's weird. It doesn't take away from the fact that he was on the way to a 40 or 50 goal season and that Chuckles committed yet another major blunder by not taking him....TWICE!! |

My opinion in Sam is simply he has shown to be the better goalie. The coaching staff backs that up based on the usage. There is no reason why he cant play say 40% of the remaining games. Also with Hart being injury prone is that such a bad idea? Now if they give Felix 40%, then fine. I do not see that happening.
AHL playoffs does not take precedent over learning and developing t the NHL level for someone who clearly has shown so far he belongs in the NHL.
If they lost Felix on waivers it is a nothing burger. He will very likely not be back next season. If they can get a 7th for him by all means do it.
if this if that. - hello it's me 2050
Without repeating my points, I will add that the Phantoms have been bad for quite a while, and I am glad to see that they have put themselves in a playoff position as I think this is the best experience they can give the organization’s prospects. It would be a shame to be an easy out because they didn’t manage the goalies well and lost one; that would erase the progress they have made.
It really hasn’t sat well with me for the Flyers to be a building/development team but have their AHL team be a non-playoff team. |

If York turns out to be a really good defenseman, does that still make it a major blunder? They didn't pass on him twice. The Flyers had one selection in that round. Trading down did not give the Flyers two first round picks. |

You wonder if Ek knew he would get that response before he put that out. Anything for the clicks.
When the Provorov incident blew up his blog, most of the commentary was opposed to Ek’s take. I give him credit for not suppressing comments even when it detoured off track at times.

I don't think the fans are overly worried. Just want to see healthy players next year as they knew this year wasn't going to be highly competitive.

They traded down to get the 14th pick in that draft and Caufield was still on the board. Therefore, they had two chances to select him and didn't. I'd still take Caufield without a second glance just like I would have that night at the draft. York is a nice steady defender at this point, but it remains to be seen if he has more to offer than that. Give me the guy that was on a 45 goal pace every day! |

It was the 11th pick that they traded to Arizona. If the Flyers had kept that 11th pick, then they would not have had the 14th pick. It's impossible to pass on a player twice if you only make one selection in that draft before Caufield was selected. The Flyers only had an opportunity to select one player. Now if they had drafted two players before Caufield was selected. Then you could say they passed on him twice. The Flyers passed on him once, not twice. It does remain to be seen if York has more to offer than that. Hence the question. If York turns out to be a really good NHL defenseman, would that still be a major blunder? |
