self-explanatory. What's frost do when against better players?
If you want to discuss TK by all means please do. - hello it's me 2050
All players pad stats against the worst in the league, especially if they play on a squad like this.

Not sure that's 100 percent accurate. Ny was a pr move due to the racial comments (can see this for NY). Carolina traded him, they didn't just let him go. and canes are always concerned about the cap. Otherwise we could say they booted hamilton as well. - Peter Richards
I'm not even talking about off-ice/interpersonal stuff/controversial stuff.
Just his play w/o the puck.
If he had just been a loose cannon Yzerman and Gorton might have lived with that. But he was also nigh uncoachable.
Brindy rehabbed him (somewhat). |

I don't know that Brindy rehabbed him. Maybe attitude wise if that's what you're referring to. They hid his defensive deficiencies by playing him with Slavin on a strong defensive and possession team.

TDA was healthy scratched by Zettler in Syracuse for lax play w/o the puck. Same in NY under David Quinn. Torts has healthy scratched him this season.
Guy isn't easy to coach. - Tomahawk
None of that changes what I said about taking his attitude and compete over Ghost any day.

no lets go there. Talking about on ice attitude anyway.
Ghost was an issue as well. Defied Haxstol when he was coach. Clearly had an issue with AV. - hello it's me 2050
Issues with Hakstol and AV? So did I and 90% of the fan base. |

what racial comments has he made? Unless I missed it didnt see any in there.
https://nypost.com/2021/0...-bares-soul-in-interview/
"It fit the narrative, didn’t it? Or maybe it served the narrative that there was something intrinsically rotten in the MAGA supporter who seven years earlier as an 18-year-old had been suspended by both the Ontario Hockey League and his Sarnia team for violating the league’s harassment, abuse and diversity policy. Not that it makes this any less heinous in nature, but The Post has learned that the slur he directed at a Caucasian teammate was ethnic in nature, not related to race."

Yeah, only talking about his receptiveness to input. Could have been Brindy, could have been that he was a whisker away from ending up in Russia, or he just matured with age, or some combo thereof.
Before Carolina, his attitude in Tampa and New York was poop. |

Why? - Scoob
Is this not a signal from the organization the team is headed in the right direction led by Fletcher? Trade deadline is within sight and it certainly appears Fletcher will be making the decisions. Is this considered progress? |

Would you expect Jackson on the telecast to say that the team needs to stop winning games because they need a higher draft pick?

I watched the part where he threw his body at the puck and totally missed it, letting Chicago walk in and score their game winning goal.
Btw, I've been calling him Tony Angelo for months. Nice to see it catching on. - Feanor

Now that the attitude is in check, time to work on the defense, eh.

No it is a diversion tactic by the organization. A little past the halfway point in a season, and a team's broadcast is pointing out "oh look, the team is in a wildcard chase". I wonder if the Bruins broadcast is showing charts on how far ahead the team is in the chase for #1 seed. Again, let's celebrate mediocrity by the team. No need to dwell on the team getting manhandled by TOR and BOS a short time earlier. Diversion tactic at its finest. |

It is a diversion. However they are employees being paid what to say. It is a cushy gig they do not want to jeopardize.

Sure, I'm not being critical of Jim Jackson. My criticism is sqarely on the organization who btw owns the team and the broadcast. |

It's just the producers telling the script writers and guys in the booth to raise the drama and stakes so people will keep watching.
What do you expect them to say? Here's a game that doesn't matter between two teams who are headed absolutely nowhere? Please stay tuned until the end for the sake of our ratings and advertisers?
It's not a grand conspiracy, it's just television. |

I don't want to misread what you're saying here but are you suggesting that the Flyers hockey department is coordinating with the broadcast crew and production team to create a diversion? If so, that is a ridiculous stretch.

I don't consider the broadcast team's comments as messaging from above.

Im only just getting used to it after all these years. I've just always felt home should be white so we can see the road teams "colors". - MBFlyerfan
That's how I've always felt as well. It makes watching the game more visually interesting at the arena when the visitors wear their colors. Instead, we're now stuck with (for the most part) orange vs. white. |

Please tune into our broadcast of the upcoming game between the Flyers and the Bruins. The Flyers are most likely going to get an ass kicking, which should make for great TV.

In some ways I feel like they just made the switch but its actually been since the 2002-2003 season.

No, it was in Black & White. Years after they put it in color. Only 3 seasons too, felt like a million episodes I watched. Blew my mind too. - Glak18
Only the first season was filmed in B&W. All subsequent seasons and made for TV movies were filmed in color. The original 36 episodes were eventually colorized for syndication. |
