Lol I figured tonight would be an easy win but of course, Mrazek (former Flyer) in goal pretty much guaranteed a loss. Yes, TDA has his D issues but I'd take him any day over Ghost. Love what he did after the EN goal. - Don Nachbaur
That's what I'm looking for. How well a player can break his stick over the net. Gostisbehere is just as good offensively as Angelo is. Gostisbehere is no defensive stalwart but he is better defensively than Angelo is. No doubt.

The only difference is DeAngelo can actually throw a check. The only thing Ghost can do is hit the opposing player with his purse.

The boradcast really showed the wildcard standings on the telecast. Fletcher approves. May want to check out the next 10 games and put those standings away for some time. - Trox88
I actually heard Jim Jackson in the 3rd period state if the Flyers want to be a wildcard team they cannot lose a game like this. I was floored. What the hell are we doing here?? Fletcher laments that the team does not have top-end talent, which he could have obtained this offseason if he did not resign Risto and trade for DeAngelo, and the top of this draft is loaded with top-end talent. Yet Fletcher wants to drive the team towards a wildcard spot? This is what scares me the most of Fletcher. He clearly cares about his job more than the team or the long term success of the franchise. He has to go! |

I don't know who is worse between Ghost and DeAngelo, but one thing I know for sure is neither is even close to the dominance of Risto! |

Dominance. Worst on the team in GA/60 at 5 on 5. Even worse than Angelo. |

Dominance. Worst on the team in GA/60 at 5 on 5. Even worse than Angelo. - MJL Philly is the place where defensemen come to implode. Ghost sucked when he was here (the last couple of years). DeAngelo sucks after having a good year last year (defensive partner probably) and Erik Gustafsson (7 G 19 A +11) is a stud with the Caps after totally sucking with the Flyers. Now Provorov wants out. What's goin on here?

Hell, even Risto had a offensive game before he came to Philly. He had a couple 40 point seasons in Buffalo and does nothing offensively here....other than his totally offensive lack of a defensive game. |

give me the attitude and compete level of Tony D anytime over casper. Not even close. You claim you watch the games do you really think one doesn't throw his body around more than the other?
Cliff what kind of contract d you think Ghost will get now that he is an upcoming free agent? 4 years? 6 per?

It was shocking. I thought for sure Fletcher would be gone before the trade deadline. Now I'm not so sure. They can beat below average teams, but get absolutely smashed by elite teams. Luckily, the easy part of the schedule is gone. I have zero interest in watching the Flyers get dismantled by BOS in the first round

Not a valid metric to use to gauge individual impact on against. I presented to you the metric to use to show a players impact to goals for and goals against, and Risto is one of the best on the team. Risto last night for example had a 65 CF% while Sanheim was 40% and Angelo was just about 50%. Face it, Risto is the Flyers best defenseman right now, though Provorov and York are playing well also. In his last 12 games, Risto has 1G, 4A and is a +2, so his offense is starting to come as a I predicted. |

Of course it is valid. You don't even know what that stat is. You copied and pasted the example wording and never provided any link. Ristolainen gives up goals at the highest rate on the team this season. You continue to use one game samples. Ristolainen isn't close to being the Flyers best defenseman. He is arguably the worst defenseman on the team. How many times now is this that you labeled Ristolainen as the best defenseman on the team? Five or six times now? Right now, despite playing on his off side, York is the best defenseman on the team and it's not close.

I think this is actually a really good point. I was done with Ghost when we had him but to not only trade away assets to remove Ghost and trade away assets to bring in another Ghost is inexcusable. With this said, what makes Ghost currently appealing is, Arizona has him at a bargain. I wouldn’t want Ghost for more than what he’s currently making. |

A 4-1 home loss to arguably the worst team in the NHL. Not ideal.
Flyers have maybe 1 player (Konecny) in the top 100 players in the NHL. Hard to fathom how void of talent they are. |

The correct statement is that in his last 45 games, Ristolainen has 1G and 4A and is a -4.
Did you see that setup he made last night? What a play. It had to be to set up an AHL player for a goal. That's how good Ristolainen is.

Angelo probably hits harder but in terms of frequency. Identical. They're pretty much the same player although I give a slight edge to Gostisbehere defensively.

He should've broken his stick over his own head after the play he made on the Hawks 3rd goal.

I have no idea and it doesn't really matter to me. The Flyers would probably be dealing him FOR a draft pick or two at the deadline instead of already having traded two 2nds, a 3rd, and 4th to trade him only to have to replace him with the same guy at 500k more for more years.

That "worst team in the NHL" still has more top-100 players than the Flyers do
