No idea. Was he lighting it up in Bridgeport??
- JohnScammo

I mean, regardless, you play him against Boston, put him on the 1st line and have his first NHL experience be against the “perfection” line? Seemed like a disaster from the jump.

He was playing well in bgpt but still an unusual call up against the bruins imo. I thought Varlamov was an unusual choice, to me at least, even with from what I remember is a good record against the bruins given he hasn’t played a heck of a lot. Maybe Lane is in on the tank.

Isles had the last change, so I doubt he saw a lot of time against the perfection line. Regardless, he did not look good, and the Bruins have lots of talent regardless of which line he was up against.

Was Holmstrom a healthy scratch?

Well I think this group has shot their load and it’s time for changes.

Hey this year has been a telling tale, last year wasn’t Covid, new Arena, etc when this year you play worse. Lou gave the group a year to right the ship. They deserved that, however if they don’t prove they can do it then they shot their load. Time to make some changes.

I think he went with varly because the way they are playing even starting Sororkin there was a pretty good chance they were losing anyway so why not sacrifice varly and save Sororkin for Buffalo giving them a better chance to win that game but they suck so it doesn’t matter lol

Sadly Lou miscalculated badly the last two years. The NHL was back to a full time schedule and Lou only added Parise and Chara to a flawed team. This is not getting you to the Cup. Covid did not help but was not the big issue for the team.

The Bs don’t have the perfection line anymore. They have the Czech line w Zacha/Pasra/kreji and moved smith to the “perfection” line. Taylor hall is on the 3rd line. They have so much depth he hasn’t scored since Dec 13 I think they said, and it doesn’t even phase that team.

Parise has been probably the best player on this team for a while now. Actually feel bad for the guy. Well as much as I can feel bad for a guy who makes millions to play a game. He’s out there busting his arse just about every shift. Pageau has been great for quite some time also. Besides those two and Sorokin, Varlamov the rest of this team is just not putting an effort out there. If Parise wants to go I hope the guy gets his wish and gets a legit shot at a cup rather then end his career with this group of losers.

I'd say trade him to the B's but he wouldn't crack the lineup

That team is humming he probably wouldn’t.

It makes me cringe but he would be super impactful for the Rangers imo. He actually may get a better return then any of us are thinking with his play and minimal salary.

I believe everyone is on the same page that this team needs a facelift at the very least. My question is would most rather Lou at the helm for the retool/rebuild or someone else?

Parise has been a good Islander, but he was not the type of pickup that was going to be the Islanders over the top. Islanders needed a special player. You would think Parise wants to go to a contender but we will see.

Don’t leave the nose when doing a total facelift. Change it all let’s get some younger thinking.

Someone else. Lou gave them much needed credibility, and Trotz. It sent a message that L & M wanted to win. Now it's time for a new direction.

Never thought/said he was the missing piece but with that said he would be an excellent add to any contending team imo.
