Yep, they’ll sink themselves well out of a playoff spot and then go on a 6 game winning streak to end the season - eichiefs9

They’re done. Trade Mayfield, Varly Parise and any other pending UFA. Get what you can for them before you lose them for nothing. This team is not winning anything. I know Lou isn’t going anywhere and the fact that he thinks this team is good scares me as to what he will do next. |

Indeed Vukota. No way Lou can be back at this point. I'll talk to Ledecky again if I have to.

Yeah a lot of people screaming for Meier. Not worth the capital, they unfortunately need more than him. |

They are way past needing only one player. Do not trade the #1.

Gotta think this continues that’s exactly what Lou will do. Team needs a face lift. |

Cannot believe doing pretty much nothing to the roster for two year lead to this. |

The offensive talent is just too marginal to have the sudden breakdowns this team experiences. Additionally, Pelech's loss has guys like Aho and Mayfield logging too much toi |

Meier is also due a $10M qualifying offer next year. So if they acquired him and couldnt agree on a contract extension then they'd either be paying him $10M or losing him as a UFA |

I’ve seen a bunch of people say this is the deepest draft in awhile. There’s no way you trade that pick. Why? So maybe we make the 8th seed. Not worth it. |

The Wild announcers were just commenting on how the shorty seemed to demoralize the Islanders. I put some of the blame on the coach. If you have a 1-goal lead late in the 3rd period, the one thing you don't want to do is give up a shorty. So put 2 d-men on the PP if you have to. There's just no excuse for giving up that goal. |

One player isnt fixing this team anyway. They should be selling at the deadline and clearing space to start retooling. They’re old, slow, and averagely skilled and the roster is filled with complacent veterans who have no up-and-coming talent to push them. |

I'm not calling for Lou's head, but I will say that I've long had a concern that his philosophy is perhaps stale in today's game. I found it really concerning two years ago when he was asked about adding a scoring forward and said he wasn't worried about scoring more goals, as he would rather give up fewer goals.
I get the dedication to disciplined defense, but we've got a corps of forwards that simply don't stack up against playoff teams. Our top six is pretty weak..... |

So much for a vet team not folding. I always liked two D on the PP. I understand Lane not wanting to sit on a 1 goal lead as well.

Lou's style is simply not holding up well right now. I should not have been shocked Lou did not even talk to JG this offseason after those comments. Defense is important but you also need a fully functioning offense.

This is the problem. No fear from the vets on being replaced. The curse of these lousy 7 year contracts. Cuts off all player movement. NHL better put a stop to these contracts in the next deal. The fans want player movement and exciting offseasons. |

Man, that Clutterbuck extension looks even worse than I thought it would. You have to assume all of those career hits have broken him down pretty good. I wonder how bad tonight's injury is |
