Yeah I could see that happening but don’t count us out just yet. We have plenty of games left to suck with. I think there’s plenty of suck we haven’t seen from this team yet. Hopefully Lambert keeps playing mayfield 30 mins a night. |

Bedard is unreal he was toying with guys in the world Jr's that were 3 years older than him - Upstate_isles
He's definitely incredibly talented and has been on everyone's radar seemingly forever. I know some NHLers who have played with him (especially Barzy) say the kid is going to score a lot of goals in the league. I don't doubt that he will be a star, he absolutely will. The most common comparisons for him are to Patrick Kane. That said, I think a lot of people consider it a foregone conclusion he'll be right there with McDavid. I think at 5'9" that may be a tougher task than most know by just watching him go up against other juniors. He may be that good, but there's a reasonable chance that size prevents him from being in that 'generational' juggernaut he's been painted as.

Lou Lamoriello gives strong vote of confidence to Lane Lambert and his staff. Says coaching staff couldn’t be doing more. Says it’s completely his responsibility to turn team around and make whatever improvements can be made.
I respect and admire that Lou takes ownership and responsibility of the situation...and at the same time I'm sort terrified of what he might do to "turn the team around" |

I was about to post the same thing. First of all, when you tend to be as isolated as Lou is, it's easy to make this sort of comment and then just retreat back into the darkness
Second of all, this doesn't like a rebuild/major retool is the consideration.

Personally, I'm preparing for the "Isles trade Robin Salo, William Dufour, 2023 1st rd pick to Arizona for Jakob Chychrun"

It always seems to be about defense with the Islanders and the offense is just fine. |

I can appreciate Lou's desire to back his coach up, but the regularity at which we see missed assignments, bad changes, bad penalties etc.... This team makes numerous mental errors night in and out. At some point, that's a reflection of coaching...or you just have a whole team of dumbasses |

No question keaner Lane needs to take responsibility as well, but this seems like a player issue. This is Lane's first job as head coach in the NHL, but he seemed highly regarded.
