I’m at the game so I didn’t hear them but Backstrom left Nelson on the dasher with his head spinning. - nyisles7
I don’t think Aho anticipated what happened. Which, in all fairness to me, was understood. |

I really prefer Aho wouldn't have switched off there but it could go either way. Clearly they didn't communicate it so good |

A body check by Nelson would have been much more effective than the stick swing. Aho is like WTF and couldn’t react quick enough. Would have been great if he did but that happened fast. Nelson is typically better but happens to the best. That’s the mistake they Capitalized on imo.
Need to tighten up stay disciplined and bring this one home. |

This was a must win to begin with. At this point, blowing a 3-goal lead would be crushing. |

Brock Nelson sucks lately. - potvin05
Nelson is not having a good game. He's -2 which means he was on the ice for both goals against and not on the ice for any of the goals for. He's 0 for 4 on face-offs. He has been credited with zero hits.
They used to call him Mr. Brocktober, because he would start the season hot, and then disappear. Let's hope he's not reverting. |

JGP back - nyisles7
He played late in the 2nd period, so I would hope so. |

Fasching, Pageau, Parise and 4th line only guys looking like they give a (frank) the last period and a half. Unacceptable considering how important this game is.
Mayfield is a clown show lately too. |

The missed high stick on Martin is just inexcusable. That's 4 minutes easy |

Honestly any team that scouts us should be telling their players to dump the puck on Mayfield's side |

The fact they’re getting a point is already a loss. We need to get the 2nd point. |

No matter what happens in OT, this game feels like a loss. Chasing the Caps for the last playoff spot, with a 3-goal lead, they needed to find a way to win in regulation. Instead the Caps are going to end up with at least a point. |

That’s a demoralizing loss. Barzal should walk home after that abortion of a overtime. |

It's impressive how once you think this team can't disappoint you any more than it already has, they really dig down deep and find another way to do it again. |

Brutal paly by Barzal and brutal blowing a 3 goal lead. Games like this and team is making the decision to sell easy.
