I think you’re going to be disappointed hawk. This team plays hard for torts and if they start getting healthy they’ll settle into that 10-15 spot

Flyers scoring a robust 2.36 goals/game. Holding strong at 32nd in the league. Hard time believing a healthy JVR and Atkinson make that much of a difference. Will Frost feed them the puck? Maybe Cates? Probably Brown?

Getting these healthy guys back is gonna sting. I don’t see them dropping any further by the end of the season, somehow there are teams worse than ours which is hard to comprehend. You’d think Buffalo and Ottawa can finish ahead of us , I could see Vancouver going full tail spin though and dropping below

Any minute now the extreme effort the Flyers are playing with is going to start resulting in more goals scored for the Flyers. It's going to keep Hart having to put up a .940-.950 SV% all game so the Flyers can win. It's going to improve the PP and the PK.

You don’t think JVR, Atkinson and eventually Allison will help? That’s 3 top 9 wingers. JVR has 5 pts in 6 games all on the pp. You don’t think he helps their pp?

Like it or not they will be somewhere between 10 and 15. If Selke was healthy they would be right below a playoff spot or fighting for one. You cant just discount losing 6 top 9 forwards. If they get healthy they will start winning games w this coach. However, it be nice if we can find a center to pass the puck. W Hayes on the wing and Selke hurt they having nothing down the middle. Nothing.

Also the d needs help. All of them

Last year, the Flyers had JVR, Atkinson and Claude Giroux. Where did they finish?

They’ve lost 15 of the last 18. JVR and Atkinson aren’t lifting this team to drafting in the 10-15 range lol.

C'mon now. Look at the effort Tortorella has them playing with. It's a game changer.

Absolutely not, but it will be enough to be outside of the top 5

No one said anything about scoring goals. and the Bolded is another fabricated thing on here. The facts are that Hart has been under .900 9 of his past 10 games and he’s been a key contributor into why they are losing. You didn’t have much to say last night or against the islanders, why was that, things didn’t go your way?

How does the Flyers rebuild measure up to the Devils rebuild?

How does the Flyers losing 12 of their last 13 games measure up to the Devils undefeated November?

How does zero Cups in the last 47 years measure up to 3 Cups in the last 27 years?

How does Lindros' chin measure up to Stevens shoulder?

I'm so sick and tired of this franchise being perpetual losers.

You aren't making any sense and obviously didn't understand the Hart comment. Also don't seem to understand what sample size is. It's the NHL. Bad teams sometimes win games. They don't go 0-82. How did it not go my way?

How are people still showing up to the games is my question. Flushing money down the drain must feel nice or something

It's a big assumption that Hayes, who hasn't played 82 games in his career stays injury free. If Hart misses any time, the next option is Sandstrom who has 1 career win. Cates has to figure out how to play center quickly. Frost has now played 101 games and has 28 pts. I'm pro Frost, but he is entering bust territory. The center depth on this team is non existant. A lot has to go right to avoid missing out in the top 5.

The Flyers have trouble scoring goals for a number of reasons. Most games they don't have the puck enough and don't create enough scoring chances. In the rare game where they do control the puck, they don't have the talent to finish. Getting a couple of players back will help some but I don't see it making a drastic improvement.

During the Giroux era, the team was terrific at faceoffs. Now, they are terrible, which contributes to lack of puck control. However, the guys coming back are adding to the core who was the worst team in the NHL the second half last season. So yes, I agree it will help, but not dramatically. Hopefully, Fletcher is fired soon and some of this core can be moved.

Faceoffs help but a small part of possession control. The Flyers don't have the defense and center play that is needed. They don't play with enough puck pressure due in part to player personnel and Tortorella's archaic systems play. I could see the latter if it was producing results, but it is not. Effort was not the issue last year and it's not the issue this year. Player talent is the issue.

“So I think there’s a path forward here to be more competitive, and I expect to be more competitive the rest of the way,” Fletcher said. “We’re five points out of a wild card spot now. We’ll see. We’ll see if we have the capability of staying in that race and competing.”

-Chuck Fletcher
