It's a big assumption that Hayes, who hasn't played 82 games in his career stays injury free. If Hart misses any time, the next option is Sandstrom who has 1 career win. Cates has to figure out how to play center quickly. Frost has now played 101 games and has 28 pts. I'm pro Frost, but he is entering bust territory. The center depth on this team is non existant. A lot has to go right to avoid missing out in the top 5. - Trox88
You need to go look at the teams below is too tho. Hart was fantastic earlier in the season and has basically been a backup goaltender the past 10 games. Much hasn’t gone right for this team already |

You aren't making any sense and obviously didn't understand the Hart comment. Also don't seem to understand what sample size is. It's the NHL. Bad teams sometimes win games. They don't go 0-82. How did it not go my way?

Team play and goaltender play is symbiotic. Hart was never going to keep that level of play up. That's the point. The Flyers were winning some games simply because of a hot streak by a goaltender that was not going to last. It was entirely predictable. That was told to people, including you when it was happening. Now you think there is some great magnitude of improved effort that is going on that is going to raise the Flyers. Unlikely.

I really believe Fletcher will not be the GM by the time the Flyers play the Devils again. Now we could certainly be disappointed what happens after Fletcher is removed.

The team has actually played much better than earlier in the season lately, outside of Tampa. another false hood of yours, I’m on record numerous times saying they will finish right outside of the top 5. |

You don't have any sense of a grasp of my opinion. You look at a game here and there and focus on that rather than the overall play of the team over the course of the season to this point. I have not posted a single false hood, but you are free to point it out and provide the facts to support that at any time. Or continue to call me out with no basis behind it. Your choice. |

IMO, the only teams possibly worse then the Flyers are ANA and CHI. I can argue that both those teams have better offense then the Flyers even with a return of Atkinson and JVR, while the rest of the forwards remain healthy. Right now. Hart is on pace to play 59 games. Previous career high was 45. Hope he can continue to be the workhorse.

and you clearly don’t have a grasp on mine. You constantly move the goal posts to cater to your argument, it’s laughable |

Colombus is a bad team that has now lost Werenski and possibly Jake for the rest of the season, Laine in and out of the lineup. They are really bad. The coyotes are terrible as well. |

Every time you and I have an interaction, you resort to this. It's an indication of the weakness of your position.
You asked me if the team plays differently than the last two years. I responded with a commonsense answer. Playing differently can encompass a lot of areas and there are a lot of ways to look at that. If you're looking to discuss a specific area, then your question failed to address that.
There is no goal post moving on my behalf. My opinion is consistent and backed up by the facts.

Has the FrostWeal experiment run its course.
No more shoulder excuse.
No more playing with better players argument.
Kid is a 2nd line Ahler.
Wish he would of hit.
Typical. |

Let's not resort to commenting on how someone posts. Each person can view the team differently and are entitled to that. It's absolutely okay that we all don't agree on specific things.
If they can't be reasonably debated then it's also possible to just skip over a posters comments and stop engaging with them. It doesn't do any good to keep harping on something/someone and expect the conversation to somehow improve. |

Are the flyers worse than San Jose? I honestly don't know. It will definitely be difficult to be worse than Arizona, Columbus, Anaheim and Chicago and I expect some of those teams to sell off guys by the deadline. I think for the 5th worst spot it's between Philly, SJ, Buffalo, Ottawa and maybe Vancouver if they sell off some guys.

I find it interesting to short change CLB since the Flyers still have not beaten them. AZ has a crazy schedule. About to finish a 14 game road trip, which is nuts. I do think once Fletcher is removed, we will be able to add the Flyers to the list of selling some guys. I know, I know, but Fletcher is still here. Just a little more patience is necessary- just a few more weeks. |

Bill Meltzer: Wrap: Flyers outplay but lose to Devils - bmeltzer
First I don’t think the media asked Torts any dumb questions. I think there are things about this team and the organization overall he’s frustrated with and he’s unwilling to speak openly about. Yes the team played their asses off. The score sheet shows this but the lack of talent is glaring. I do think JvR and Atkinson will make some differences but not much.
At this point it’s tough for me to put Carter Hart on this high pedestal. Is he our best player? I think you can make that argument but he does allow leaky goals and he’s been doing even this when we were winning. It’s no different from watching Ivan Provorov play well, give all he has and then one slip up leads to a goal allowed. I personally put Hart and Provorov on the same level. I don’t rise up one and down play the other. At the end of the day, if the forwards could hold up their end, we’d probably win as much as we’d lose. |

I’m with you, those bottom 4 should be locks. I’d like to believe Buffalo has a better season than we will, they should. Ottawa should be better, no idea about San Jose. Potentially major changes coming in Vancouver, could see them bottom out as well. |

How are people still showing up to the games is my question. Flushing money down the drain must feel nice or something - hereticpride
It's the casuals. Eagles/Phillies fans who "root" for the Flyers that stumble upon tickets for 20 bucks.
Of course you will always have the STH who just can't let go. |

It depends on who the Flyers have in the line up….Hart stole games early…not happening now….What if he got hurt? Ottawa will be better…I actually think they will be a playoff team. The Flyers have some guys on the sidelines that probably get them closer to 23-24th over all….but a few more injuries and they are vying for the bottom 3. This is a team with 1 win in 13 games. In the end it’s all about the ping pong balls anyways. |

How does the Flyers rebuild measure up to the Devils rebuild?
How does the Flyers losing 12 of their last 13 games measure up to the Devils undefeated November?
How does zero Cups in the last 47 years measure up to 3 Cups in the last 27 years?
How does Lindros' chin measure up to Stevens shoulder?
I'm so sick and tired of this franchise being perpetual losers. - PLindbergh31
It's certainly tough being a Flyers fan. Even during the bad years they had some decent talent and could field a solid PP. The ridiculous amount of 1st round draft pick whiffs is both unacceptable and comical at this point. Their current roster makeup and cap situation is hilariously pathetic. Strap in because it's going to be a while before this team can actually compete for a playoff spot. |
