Because prior to the season I think he's looking at a 3x3-4 deal. Like I said before I think the only leg the Sabres have is one year of production, coupled with only buying 3(?) years of UFA. I really don't know. Ask me again at the end of the season.

Jason Robertson is two years older, had 2 years of high production and is a winger and he got 7.75

Brayden Point in 2019 got a 3x6.5 after 3 years of increasing, high production. Then got his 9.5.

Come to think of it, Josh Norris may be an excellent similar candidate. He got 8x8 after two years of production, not hitting ppg. He's two years older and they had to buy more years of UFA.

I think it's possible, if they do a full extension right now, to do 8 years, 7M.

I wonder if we reach the point that Jeff Skinner will need to be moved.

Von thinks he'll be ready to go in 6-7 months. Gives him all of training camp and preseason to ramp up.

I don't know the full extent of the tear, but if it wasn't initially spotted, perhaps it was only a slight tear.
