Last year. Sorry I was mistaken, the offense was weak and the team defense (skaters) were average.

Again, the Ducks "being bad" does not impact how an individual player performs.

He can still be great and lose games 3-2, 3-1 and have 10 saves above expected. But he doesn't. He stinks.

They wouldn't be this bad if he was performing like a top 10 goalie.

Gibson is playing replacement-level hockey on a garbage team.

The Sabres are playoff caliber with him imo

Of course they have to try, but if Cozens ends the year at 30 goals and 50 assists, he might consider $8M per to be a discount, considering his age and how much he might be giving up long term by signing a max length deal before the cap limit explodes upward.

Yeah. Unless something is coming from the external, the cap won't be a problem for 3-4 years (Last 2 of Skinner?). If he'd be willing to sign at 8M after a 30 goal 50 assist campaign where he showed chemistry with the young guns and plays solid defensively, wouldn't you sign up for that long term? With how the cap is also expected to rise, 8M for that play would be on the lower end after all.

And have any of those guys been on one of the worst teams in the league for 4 years now?

My two thoughts are one, the team may not be able to use the Tage deal as some kind of upper limit in terms of AAV for other players.

Two, Cozens might sign for between $7M-$8M per on a long term deal right now, as of today, but if they wait until the season ends, the AAV might need to be $9M per.

The longer they wait, the more the price increases, especially if he continues to produce this way.

Ducks should be trading Gibson if he is willing to wave.

Jack Eichel had a prolifically strong 19-20 and had jack snot to show for it.

Good players exist on bad teams. You need little statistics to prove that.

OK but Andy has 23 games left this season based on his game pace and Comrie UPL get the other 33.

Anderson is a good backup and the Sabres have no starter

It depends on how this team views Levi. They paid Comrie for a short prove it deal. They intentionally didn't seek out a long term starter. I believe this was to give the org a chance to see more work from UPL, see if they can get a real goalie on the cheap that showed promise as well as afford Levi a starting job on one of the two teams next season. Comrie has some time to balance it out.
