Too bad they're like 28th in goals against. - Wetbandit1
Their offence is entirely rush based for the most part.

That's why Jersey looked so good against them. They're so disciplined. Thankfully only Jersey and Boston can do that. They're going to start boatracing more teams if they stay healthy. |

Yeah, there are certain teams in the league you won’t be able to boat race, Jersey and Boston are two of them.
They will have to adapt at some point but when you lead the league in goals, you can get away with that type of play if you have a goalie that can make up for the lack of defence so to speak. |

Agreed. You don't break what you do well. Keep doing it well, and get better at the other stuff.
Edit: add Carolina to that list. |

What's the consensus on how many games should < top 5 draft picks be given before they are written off? |

Entirely situation based. There is no answer to this question.
For example, this year our goaltending is sinking us. We don't have the luxury to evaluate UPL up here without him sinking us, yet here we are. He's obviously not ready for NHL forwards.
And, no matter what the actual number is, Eric Comrie has had more than enough time. He's been waived multiple times for a reason I think. |

Sure, in the minors, where he belongs. But, since we don't have another option he's going to get plenty more before we get Comrie back. Here's to hoping. I've got a bottle of Proseco in the fridge waiting for someone to pitch a shutout. |

That is somewhat true. but we had the same kind of Offense in 2005-2007, we just had a much better goalie.

JFC, UPL cant get any worse (I Pray) 3.98 GAA & .859 SP. I seriously believe that a cardboard cut-out of Hasek with holes on the top and bottom in net would put up better numbers then UPL.
He is NOT the Answer, just Like Mittle-Shat and VO they all need to find a new career path..

did you want to bury ryan miller in the minors after 19 nhl games?
loss at toronto
2 pp goals for leafs and a shorty
loss in ot to bolts
2 pp goals allowed
stamkos gets 2 goals in the last 9 minutes
loss to colorado
3 pp goals
2 goals by nate the great
in the 3 wins
stopped a penalty shot and laine got 2 goals by him last night, never in danger of losing
stopped 26 of 29 vs the sharks in a game we were never in danger of losing in the third period
stops 34 of 36 vs the blues pp goal allowed and a goal in the last 70 seconds, again another game we were never in danger of losing
so bury him in the minors as the pk sucked when we played 3 powerhouse teams, tampa, colorado, leafs

Short answer is NO, b/c you could see how good Ryan Miller was going to be. He started his first 15 games with a 2.63 GAA & .902 SP with 1 SO. UPL is so much worse...

because he lost on the road to the leafs, and at home to the 2 teams that played for the cup last season while our pk sh!t the bed
got it
anderson got 6 cupcake teams on his 9 starts, 6k got 2 on his 6 starts
maybe the vet should be playing vs tampa, colorado and toronto
side note, we blew out columbus last night and 6k didn't cry after any of his starts |

He's on a pitch count. That's not an excuse for the Sabres because they chose to employ a 41 year old, but they at least realize if they push Anderson too hard, it's gonna be Subban and UPL in Buffalo and ain't nobody got time for that |

They also had the luxury of a 28-year-old Marty Biron. If things went badly for Miller, Biron could play 5 in a row no problem |

Like I said, he's going to get plenty more starts before Comrie is back in the lineup. He can feel free to fix his broken glove arm at any time. |
