How can anyone think that any team in this league would trade for Mittelstadt at all let alone in a deal for Horvat; let alone him and Demko? Why do people think that other teams want the players on your team you can't wait to get rid of. This is a joke. Though if it happened Vancouver would be the joke that the Sabres have been for the last dozen years. - sabrebuzz
How much are you giving up for a pending UFA forward?
Including a top 4 defender because Pilut, Bryson and Fitz ain't it thats only like 5 players - sabresfan69
I'll take one of them too, but atleast in season, I'd like to see the above. I think Krebs will be fine on the 3rd line eventually, just need center/wing to replace Mitts and Olo.

Hey GARTH
Feel free to avoid these threads like we all avoid your blogs 🤣🤣🤣
Imagine what this team could do with a impactful 3rd line and a few tweaks on defense. - Buff36
A real goalie fixes the supposed hold at 3rd pair D. Doesn't do anything for Mitts and Vic, but average goaltending and we NEVER bring up the bottom pair.

Well that's not true, Sabres can't keep playing there top 4 23 to 25min a night. They will wear down and that's when injuries happen. Need a competent 3rd pair that can take atleast take 10-12min with some PK time.

Disagree. The best defensemen in the world play 25 a night. I think our staff thinks we have two elite pair. Certainly Dahlin is seeing 25+ in every close game.
Ideally, yes, the bottom pair gets better along the way, but this season it's goaltending keeping us from the playoffs. Could we win a cup with that bottom pair? No, but I'm looking for one playoff round this year, not the cup.
I refuse no upgrades of this team, however. I was the first person on this board to call for bottom up improvement, and the bottom pair is certainly that. If a move to solidify a partner for Boosh is there you take it. Also, Boosh maybe needs to find a new shot blocking technique. Guy is injured too much.

Lyubushkin's style of play lends itself to a greater potential for injuries.
Have to hope Samuelsson is more intelligent with his style of play to try and avoid that.
They did attempt to improve the bottom of the forward roster with the Jost claim, and it has worked.
The way to improve the dreaded line with the Casey-Olofsson duo involves difficult decisions that include scratching a player or players that mean potentially cratering what little value they may have left.
Winning teams make those difficult decisions, without concern towards trying to inflate trade value, especially if it means a heightened chance for the team to win games.
Some say +/- is a bad stat. Sometimes is friggen on point. It tells the tale of this Sabre team fairly well from its one perspective. When you realize the Kid line matches against the McDavid and Crosbys of the league and see those + numbers... wow.

Sure, some do. But you have a rookie on your 2nd pair that isn't used to playing 82gms a year, and Samuelsson who is relatively blue and has had injury problems himself. They need to get Johnson signed and tweak there Right side a bit. A Johnson Lyubushkin 3rd pair would be sweet.

I've finally given up on Vic. You can't disappear for 10 games at a time and then toss 5 goals in over three games and go away for 20 more days. No reason he can't see a bench. You're not fooling the league into missing who he is. I'll never be mad at him. He's a 7th round pick. It's on the coaches and GM every game he plays now.
Mitts is even more disappointing. He has the talent and the hockey IQ. I don't know what's wrong with him, but he's just not going to do it as a Sabre. Shame.

Johnson and Levi on this team and we win a playoff series. Eff them until they're Sabres.
I reserve the right to hate Levi until he's a Sabre. He's better than anyone we have.

It's really wild that neither have seen the press box

Not gonna blame either one for going back to school. Can blame them all we want, but if the Sabres aren't such a sh!t show for as long as they have been probably not having these problems.
