Agreed. I made a promise to myself though at the beginning of this season I would make a special point not to talk about Power much at all this year. Dahlin showed me how wrong I was to be critical of any teen on NHL ice, especially at 20+ minutes of defense. I believe it also can be as bad to get wrapped up in them. At some point Power will have a few nightmares (he may even already have had one) but I will pass them all by this year. I'm content in owning his rookie card.

I've made no such promise! He's been very strong for them after the first couple weeks and his ability is off the charts. Defensively, he's way ahead of where you'd expect him to be.

They too often meander between viewpoints, even within the same show. Focus is an issue.
- kingcong39

And, I think Rivet causes most of that because Peters is way too nice to check him properly.

You can also tells its a very unprofessional job. Spittin Chicklets is much better show in the same genre, as is 32 thoughts.

The current blogger throws a teaser out here once in a while. All time Sabres games played.

Honestly, the trade dead line should say a lot about girgensons and the future.

If we're out, he should be 100% available.
If gurgs makes it past the tdl, he's in for the long hall.

Strikes me as a guy that bleeds blue and gold / black and red.
Doubt he would choose to leave buffalo after all these down seasons. Gotta see these 4 rebuilds thru.

Sabres probably choose girgs or okposo right?
Especially with the young guys showing leadership qualities. Dahlin for captain for sure .....eventually

There's a middle ground, where they don't want to retain, the return isn't worth it, or they don't want to send the message that they are out of it. Odds are, he's here after the deadline.

Good post

Do you see both girgs and okposo here next season.

Seems like they could pick one of the two?

Retaining salary for girgs would be only $150,000ish if they kept 50% .
I'd take that for a 1st , (2) 2nds and a roster player. 🤔

I think you're low on the retain, but not that important.

I don't know what they'll do. From a hockey standpoint, they should move on. The fact that they weren't extended already tells me that have reservations too.

Love it or hate it, on the ice, nothing defines this era of losing more than LOG. The one constant.

Just an extremely, extremely likable group. Tage and Dahlin have the best answers.

LOG and bad coaching.

I really think kyle is a tough call vs girgs.

He's making 6 million this year right?
1 goal and a large "C" on his jersey.

The way the organization slow roles the prospects and the eichel captaincy at a young age, leads me to believe we're gonna see them both next year.

Girgs will probably command a multi year deal

Kyle could go year to year ....IMO

Missing over 1 and a half seasons makes it hard for him to catch up, he would need another 8 full seasons to catch #11

I love Okposo. I've liked him here for years and I like him as a person. Early returns are less promising than I'd hoped in the offseason. The value that he's providing this year is significantly less than last year. If he steadies the ship, maybe 1x1, 1x1.5. But he's not showing the same pop as he did last year, sadly.

His team defense is moderately better, but it doesn't make up for his very poor offensive driving.

P Ham says Asplund and Lyubushkin are the scratches tonight. No word on goalie yet.

Jost with Mitts and Vic

Krebs with the old guys.

Good point, so you're saying there's a chance 🤔

Girgs- teppo jr.- Okposo jr.
2034 4th line.

This board would implode if girgensons was here for another 8+ years

No troll here what so ever. Straight up question. In terms of hockey performance, what do you think they are worth?

If you're trying to trade people you cannot scratch them. Especially in the case of Vic who has been a streaky goal score has entire career, He can honestly score 5 goals in the next 3 games. If he were to do that he would be traded before the month is up in my opinion. I no longer have to wonder at all who is going to replace his goals.

Between you and me:

I've seen enough of both okposo and girgensons. (On the ice)

Girgensons 2 x 2 million = 4 million as a highly touted ufa
Okposo 1 x 3 million. Year to year deals ...

Seems high for kyle, but you cant expect him to take a 5 million $ cut? Maybe?

What were you thinking?

I’d this regime give Kyle Okposo 3 mil a year they get fired into the sun.

IE) Corey Perry made 750k last year, and is making a mil this year.

I know you love Okposo but this team has zero need for him on the ice.
