It’s not just Fletcher. It needs to go further up the chain, because Holmgren and Scott need to go also. Clean house.

LMAo....it was said that ZM shouldn't be in the NHL. while i'm not saying he should be a top minute eater, he is a role player, a fill in for sure. still waiting for this playmaker in frost produce points.
- Peter Richards

I think the guys who are disliked the most are actually player the best within their ability. By no means do I believe Mac should be in the top 6 or playing 15-17 minutes a night but he is a 4th line NHLer. As for Risto, I think he’s looked much better next Provorov than DeAngelo. I’d continue to role with it.

This isn’t my way of rubbing it anyone’s face. I just believe if some of these guys are slotted properly, this might be a better product to watch.

Correct, but that’s what going to happen because ownership doesn’t give a damn. For Comcast, it’s all about the stadium and, to a lesser extent, selling merchandise. Ticket sales and attendance would have to drop to the 10-12 thousand range before they’d even notice.

This team will fluctuate between so-so and terrible until this team is sold. It’s already been going on for over half a decade. Face it, the script has already been written. Briere will serve as GM under the “leadership” of Chuckles and Lombardi, Clarke and Barber will still be in the shadows whispering in Fletcher’s ear. Scott will retire and Val will take over but nothing will change in the slightest. Torts will be here until at least midway thru the 24-25 season and don’t be surprised when Lappy gets the job next.

Apathetic ownership coupled with dated cronyism at the management level is never going to lead to anything good. At this point, I just pray the team is sold before I’m senile or dead.

I have little doubt that Clarke played a big hand in Fletcher getting the gig. He had the the feel of a “boys club” hire. Clarke needs to retire from any advisory role and enjoy retirement, save for the occasional alumni event. The cobwebs need to be blasted out of management ranks.

Keeping Fletcher as President of hockey ops and naming Briere GM isn't changing anything.
- MJL

I agree. And if they're going to do that I'd rather they just not do anything.

That is not what we are told -- Clarke is retired - he is in FLORIDA - rarely with the team when in philly -

Please learn the company line and continue to toe it

The pompous douchery of clamoring about this kid going to Nashville and then doubling down again to Tampa was hilarious.

Loved how his tires were pumped when tampa picked him up.....then the healthy scratches started.....radio silence.

no issue with York skating first half of the season in the A, building his confidence and earning a callup.
- wcorvette

still concerning just due to the team. if the flyers are still greatly struggling but the phantoms are doing well.....i'd keep him down just to keep his confidence high. Seems like a couple of our guys are already hanging heads/head cases.

Chuck Fletcher feels “there’s a path forward” for Flyers to be competitive! 😆 🫠

I'm a big Danny Briere fan, I loved being a Flyers fan when he was on the team. But I really don't want to see him get this job.

Nothing wrong with his confidence. Zamula is the one struggling right now.

Meanwhile the Flyers have the worst PP in the league.

That is exactly why I was praying no one would claim him. Not because I like him, but CF never met a contract slot he didn't want to use on some slug, has been or never was. Sure as poop, AA would be signed, sealed and delivered to take minutes and develop time away from a younger player. After all we are only 6 points out of a playoff spot

That 4th line is an absolute disgrace. Laz needs to replace Brown, what exactly does he bring. Also Sedlak on any line above 4 is also a disgrace. But you know, "veteran presence"

I'm going to get a kick out of seeing the propaganda machine try to sell it when this most certainly happens.

Briere promoted, with all the advisors still intact.

Change you say.

In my opinion Frost, Tippett, Cates, Farabee and Zamula are kids. Laczynski and Allison needed shots at the NHL and they’ve got them.
- SuperSchennBros

Some of those kids are only in the lineup b/c vets were/are injured.

Once the vets come back, kids are gonna barely play or get sent packing (see: Bellows getting waived).

Torts is trying to win every game. He's gonna roll with the most veteran lineup possible to achieve that. Macs, Browns, Sedlaks and Seelers are essential to him.

poop! Bellows cleared waivers!

It is imperative that a roster spot be created for Anisimov.

Bullpoop!

It’s very clear Torts loves Cates. Many believed Cates roster spot should have automatically guaranteed based on his play at the end of last season. I think that’s nonsense. Torts wasn’t here, he didn’t know the kid at that time. The only way Cates was winning a spot is by standing out in camp. Cates did this. Now Torts is leaning hard on Noah Cates, who in my opinion is a kid.

In my mind Tippett and Frost had guaranteed spots on the team until they didn’t anymore. Now Allison and Laczynski are two different situations. They’re both 25 years old. If Torts refused to play them, this isn’t Torts refusing to play the kids because by the NHL’s standards, they’re not kids.

You may be right but I doubt there are no other good options out there. The reason I like Stacey so much is he has several years of GM experience in the AHL and as part of Tampa's staff, and leads player development. We can all see how good Tampa is at developing players, thus Stacey is the type of person I would hire. It would be a chance to be a GM on his own, why wouldn't he be interested?
- jd250

Maybe he wants to stay with Tampa because he's next in line for the GM.

Ah... What the hell does it matter anyway?! I have no confidence at all in Scott, Comcast, and their hockey "brain trust" to competently pick a new GM/Pres anyway. After all, they did a poop job of it when they hired Fletcher in the first place. They need to be gone as much as Fletcher.

Oh I want him "gone" gone (as well as Scott and the Comcast overlords and their hockey advisers). I was really just asking an either or scenario with him and Briere only if there's no one else. I could live with Briere as an interim guy as long as it means Fletcher is no longer part of the team at all, even if Briere has no major positive impact in either the short or long run. I just had enough of Fletcher because he'll just keep (frank)ing up and making things worse.

It doesn't matter, because we as fans have no other power or a say besides our pocket books.

good luck with that

- THE BLACK HAND

The problem is that Tortorella's actions betray him. Are we to believe that overplaying players like McEwen, Brown, Sedlak and Seeler is how you build it the right way? He says it's going to take time but doesn't hesitate to limit ice time of a young player who might make some mistakes. In favor of a more experienced veteran player who has no future.
