Ah... didn't know that. Then he cleared waivers... which some of us didn't think would happen. It's a luxury to have an extra NHL level goalie in the system. I'm going to watch the Griffins play on Wednesday. Maybe he'll get the start and I can see him play live. He's going to need some actual game play to some degree if the Wings need him sharp & ready for a call-up.

The Captain is a Sooth Sayer! "Get your Sooth. Get your Sooth here..." (Mel Brooks, History of the World, pt 1.....anyone?!?!?!?).

I may snag AHL Live, wanna see Sir Magnus of Goal play....

He’s only in GR on a conditioning stint.

Ir means 10 games or 24 days, right? Glad we have a good pool of call-ups in GR, Czarnik looked pretty good when he played a few weeks ago. This is really going to hit Bertuzzi mentally....

That’s for LTIR. Standard IR is just a 7 day minimum. And with carrying 3 goalies the move was necessary to call up Czarnik so they have 12 healthy forwards.

Spot on. The stint makes me wonder if, beyond the obvious need for healthy bodies, something could be in the works. No clue, all speculative

Heck, I didn’t even know he went down. Kept looking for him around the bench or in the box.

See, I know what the DRW party line is, but agree with you that something’s up. Just feels like a move’s afoot….if it’s Ned, considering his current play, we’re going to get nothing more than a spare tire for Red Wing-1…. Bert’s not going anywhere. Ras? Would an ill-advised move. Zadina’s broke, but even if he wasn’t we wouldn’t get much more than the afore-mentioned spare tire.

Tension’s killing me!!!!

No waivers, it is a conditioning stint. When he comes back maybe Ned goes down on a conditioning stint, but I think they would have to have Ned's permission. Then maybe Ned wakes up if used on the back to back this weekend.

Philippe Myers Placed On Waivers
Detroit needs a big RD for the 3rd pairing????
Myers has been OK on the Bolts, they need the cap space to activate Cerelli and replaced Myers with Nick Perbix, who is on his ELC
Myers has a cap hit this year of $2.55M, but only $1.4M next yr. He is only 25

Welp... with Bert now out another six weeks we'll get a really good sample size of seeing what Berggren can do in the NHL. He ain't going back down to GR anytime soon. He's made the case to stay in Detroit. Let the kid play. He's 22 years old now... time to grab a permanent roster spot.

What can we expect from Bert for the rest of the year if he comes back in Feburary with 2 recently repaired hands???? He was not the same the past few games with one hand repaired, and was missing assignments, having give aways, and clearly not up to speed and lacked the same "hands" that he was known for. If that happens again, he won't be able to get a better contract and may have to accept a 1 year "show me" contract.....YIKES!
