Ben Shelley: Islanders fall short against Predators, lose 5-4

I have to admit after giving Ben a little sh!t about not posting he has really turned up the production.

So on to the Isles. With five days to the magical Thanksgiving marker. The Isles have performed surprisingly better than I thought they would after the lack of movement this past off season.

Goaltending: (A) I think this is the teams strongest asset.

Defense: (C+) I think they can play better then they have. Pullock still seems off. Dober is a beast in the making.

Forwards(D) Three guys inside Top 50. No one ranked higher than 31.

PP: (C-) Needs to be better if they want to go far in playoffs.

PK: (B+) Has been a little weak lately but overall solid.

Overall grade is a (C) to date and yes I think they make the playoffs, however if changes are not made up front. This team will not go far.

I’m confident they are fully capable of figuring it out on their own. With that said I definitely wouldn’t mind adding some more fire power up front but I’m not holding my breath. I’m also not sure I would be willing to give up what it may cost.

The cost is what worries me. That and Lou may be willing to mortgage the future to ensure they make a run.
