no, the only thing important is what is the best way to develop him?
certainly not having him play 9 min per game in Mtl. send him to Laval, let him play 20 mins per game, PP, PK... maybe pair him with his body Mesar. (if he stays in Laval) have them live together too.

I'm for this approach too, he just arrived to North America ... at 18 years old!
He needs time to adjust.

The NHL pace is clearly too fast for him right now and he needs to get stronger on his skates ... he tends to fall alot when hit

Everyone who's freaking out about the shutout tonight should never mention Game 1 against the Leaf this season again.

We're a team in transition. Good games. Bad games. All are lessons to teach the kids.

The future is bright. We won't win all the games. We will not suck every game, either. It's on us to keep an even keel.

Younger players are much more affected by fan negativity because of the internet and it's social media commentary, than in previous DECADES. We need to be patient, and trust in the system. Just not in a repetitive cycle that existed in the Bergevin era.

I don't think anyone on this board is panicking, we knew very well it would be a development year and wins would be few and far between.

I'm actually happy with what I've seen so far from the kids ... Guhle and Harris are already playing beyond my expectations while Slaf and Xman need more seasoning in Laval.

Thanks, Pat. Even MSL after last game said he'd be more concerned about bad habits than one-off mistakes, and that'll happen with a young team like ours.

MSL is a coach I can honestly say I believe in more than any other since Pat Burns.

Smaller players like CC, undrafted players like The Sheriff... He can team them how to succeed in the current day NHL.

Sure, the Octobus may be on the shoulder of the highest waiting for roadside assistance. But a qualified mechanic in MSLB is en route.

What he may lack in guessing experience, he knows in a leadership role on Cup teams.

I believe.

It sounds dumb, but as a guy who has been depressed and down on their luck, seeing players overcome adversity like Xhekaj who went from working at Costco to playing NHL level hockey?

poop, he should be the first rookie award of the Masterton trophy for perseverance in hockey.

while the lack of actual coaching experience could become a concern for MSL, there's no denying that he knows the game, and knows what it's like to struggle and having to put in the extra effort to succeed. he definitely has what it takes to pull this off.

by the time Habs are ready to compete... either MSL will have learned the job, either they'll fire him and hire a new coach. no problem.

there's no risk for the habs, but it sure would be nice to see him extended and actually win with the players he helped to develop.

Lol, meant to say coaching over guessing, but you got my point.

Like last year, I'll take a Mulligan on this year. But the whole team owes Allen dinner after tonight. We draft a goalie with real potential after this year? poop, we have them train with both Carey and Jane. Because that if much a piece of the puzzle as we can get without lifting 6 assets?

That's long term success.
