You’re right, I played forward. Attard is 23 and he has never played D either. Yeah, send him down for 1-2 yrs. Vlasic and Brodin were playing 22+ minutes at 19. Flyers want to develop forever. Stop coddling players. Let them sink or swim.

What's the alternative? Making Hart and Atkinson play in a preseason game eight days before the regular season starts even though they are not fully healthy would be dumb.

Yes they should agree. That being said Attard needs to clean up his game in some areas that are not NHL level. There is zero harm imo to let him learn from Smith for a few months.

This isn’t saying much but this is the best pre season line up we’ve seen so far.

A few thoughts

I am interested in seeing how Braun and Sanheim hold up together.

I always believed nothing that happened last season matters, especially in the case of Noah Cates and I think this holds up to be true. Torts even admits at pressers that he has to ask who certain guys are. With this said, even without scoring much, Cates looks like he’s locked up a spot. Really well rounded game.

Wade Allison in my opinion has had an average camp at best. While I think MacEwen would be best served at the 13th man or in the minors, I think Allison only makes the team because of his physical ability.

I think there is a good chance many here will get what they want. Young players will actually make the team. Young players will play. Unfortunately these young players aren’t going to make us better.

I can see Atkinson playing as is because he’s a vet and should know what to expect. Kimmo Timonen admitted he wanted nothing to do with pre season. Hart on the other hand, can he see a conditioning stint in the A?

He’s the best player on the ice at times but he really has not shown consistency. Can’t see him outplaying that contract, if anything he just lives up to it. Kind of have to consider contracts now tho, Ottawa kids all got paid big money. Mackinnon damn near $13M. Matthews going to reset the market shortly as well.
