Preseason Gameday: Flyers vs. Islanders
Playing their final game of the six-game preseason schedule, the Philadelphia Flyers (1-4-1) are at home on Tuesday night to take on the New York Islanders (1-2-0). Game time is 7:00 p.m. EDT. The game will be televised on NBCSP+.
On Sunday night at UBS Arena, the Islanders beat the Flyers by a 2-1 score. After Tony DeAngelo (5-on-3) and Kyle Palmieri (5-on-4) traded off power play goals for their respective teams in the second period, Scott Mayfield scored what proved to be the game winner. Samuel Ersson went the distance in goal for the Flyers.
The Flyers will continue to hold out their banged-up players from the game night lineup, although all of their players considered day-to-day participated either in Tuesday's non-game group practice or came out afterwards to skate with the rehab group. The ranks include Travis Konecny (suspected upper-body issue, one preseason game played), Cam Atkinson (upper body, DNP in preseason), Ivan Provorov (undisclosed), Rasmus Ristolainen (undisclosed) and Carter Hart (lower body). Atkinson and Ristolainen skated with the rehab group on Tuesday, while the others practiced with the non-game group.
Based on the line rushes in Tuesday's game group (with defense pairings rotating somewhat), the following is the Flyers' projected lineup.
49 Noah Cates - 13 Kevin Hayes - 74 Owen Tippett
25 James van Riemsdyk - 48 Morgan Frost - 42 Hayden Hodgson
59 Jackson Cates - 21 Scott Laughton - 57 Wade Allison
