Canadiens coach Martin St. Louis said today that they are being cautious with Monahan, holding him out of scrimmages, but that he will play in preseason games at some point, boding well for his opening-night availability.

I think he's going to turn out into a good two-way player that can contribute offensively.
Him and Lane Hutson, that's the kind of guys I want to see the Habs go for in the second round.
