I put a six-pound pork shoulder on the smoker this morning.

Then my wife and one of my daughters informed me they won’t be home for dinner tonight.

Anyone want a pulled pork sammich?

Probably has another 3-4 hours left on the smoker, so you may want to nuke a hot dog or two this afternoon.

How about just adding maraschino cherries and a mini marshmallow topping?

As for trades, two sources said that the Rangers have been offered a second-round pick for Lundkvist, an offer that’s been on the table since Claude Lemieux, Lundkvist’s agent, requested a trade before the deadline in March. It’s believed to be a high-second rounder — it was likely for the June draft from a team at the bottom of last season’s standings — and the sources indicated the offer of a second for next year’s draft is still good.

The Athletic (Subscription Required)
It’s likely that the offer, if Staple’s speculation is correct, was for a late pick. Teams with multiple second round selections like the Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings or Seattle Kraken seem like probable candidates. Also not to be dismissed are the Montreal Canadiens, who appear to be a logical match.

While Lundkvist would be an ok add, Rangers probably are more interested in a pick or prospect rather than an RFA together with his proven meathead agent. Sandin has done little more than Liljegren. He's the comparable. Agent is fishing for a contract that isn't there.

In my opinion Liljegren is the better more reliable dman. He’s bigger and stronger and better defensively which is what Leafs need from d. forwards are offensive enough. Lili can make a play and move up puck just fine.

Sandin has those Jake Gardiner moments that would make me nervous…brain cramps with the puck.

Agree with you. My point is Liljegren signed for $1.4 x 2 (74 games 24 points +11)
Sandin (88 games 28 points +8) On top of this Liljegren is a RHD

If he wants a big bump, he can take a drink from Ho Ho' s hat and then go pound salt.

Sandin is a better player than Jake IMO. Liljegren is bigger, a better skater and has a better shot. Sandin is surprisingly strong for his size. He plays more physical than Liljegren.

Sandin is strong for size agreed - but I don’t think he’s a more physical player at all. In 1on1 battles Liljegren is better. Reach, positioning, strength etc.
maybe Sandin threw a couple more open ice hits or memorable ones anyways, but I don’t think he’s more physical at all.

…I was not at all a fan of Gardiner for the Leafs but Sandin has long way to go to be at Gardiner level as a pro. 88 games doesn’t cut it. In terms of potential absolutely Sandin should become better when it’s all said and done but he needs to play a full season first.

Gardiner was a very good skater, high level offensive talent as well, well ahead of Sandin in those areas. As far as hockey IQ - he was a moron. He could not hit or defend to save his life.
