8x7 for Fiala based on one great season?
- FoppaForever

He’s had 3 good seasons in a row. Bumped production a bit this year but he’s been good.

Well he got 7x8

Kaprizov got 9Mx5. I’m thinking Fiala will get 7-8 Mil.

Blake clearly doesn't understand how an RFA works.....anyhow, Guerin probably dodged a bullet.

Yup. Obviously had it worked out ahead of time. LA looking like they will take a jump up the pacific next year.

Yeah, he had 2 good seasons and one great one just as I said. If that gets you 8 for 7 years then we're going to see some crazy contracts. He's also a wing not a center.

7.9 x 8

It's 'only' for 7 years but it's still a pretty optimistic contract. I wouldn't be very pleased if my team signed it.

Good player, bad contract. So does this convince Kadri he has earned 9+? Can forget about him signing a team friendly 7.5.

He was never going to sign that contract. This is his last shot to cash in after playing for cheap for years.

Depends on the team. Dont think LAK should be investing in him as they are just coming into their competitive window.

In my opinion he hasn't proven himself to be worthy of that sort of contract regardless of the team. I actually think LA is pretty much exactly at the point of their rebuild where thy should be dipping into the FA market after going 7 games in the 2nd round. I just don't believe Kevin Fiala is worth that sort of money/term.

Looks like you went a little heavy on that offer

now
According to sources, the #mnwild have traded the rights to pending restricted free agent Kevin Fiala to the #lakings for their 2022 first-round pick and University of Minnesota captain Brock Faber

Hey at least I got the team right! The scary thing is the Kings still have too many prospects so there is room for 1 more big swing. I'm not saying these are the pairings but on paper right now for 2022-23
Doughty Anderson
Roy Walker
Durzi Bjornfort
with Clarke and Spence waiting in the wings and most people assume Clarke will make it although myself I'm pumping the brakes on that one for the time being. it's been awhile since the Kings have had this many prospects so it's an exciting time as Colorado can't win every year!

What more does one need to do? He was a point-per-game player this year, after getting 40 in 50 last year, and 54 in 64 the year before. It's the time to get paid. He's a point-per-game player entering the prime of his career and they didn't draft him. Under 8 million is a pretty fair number.

Remember they had to buy an RFA year. If he's a point-per-game player again next season, he's a UFA and getting an even bigger contract. It's similar cap percentage-wise to Gaudreau's last contract and Fiala's done more to establish himself than Gaudreau had done at the time. Gaudreau was also underpaid for pretty much the entirety of that contract.

He's still a RFA. He would cost more to sign next year if he has another strong season. I just wouldn't expect him to be worth it near the end and LAK should still be competing then as he becomes a higher risk of a bad value contract.

Disagree. 30+ goals and 85 points is at or near a $10 million player. Ages 25 - 32 mean this contract represent his prime years. Jack Eichel makes more for doing less.
