Yep, just saw the same thing.
Elliott Friedman reporting the Hawks have turned down a "hefty" offer for DeBrincat that would have included multiple firsts, one of them being very high.

Glad that KD is sticking to his trade demands and not budging from it. The Hawks need a HAUL to move ADB. - TommyHawk
Multiple = 2? KD requires a Min of 3 - 1sts Plus Prospect?

Not sure what quite that means. The ask of multiple 1sts is if that team's picks will be in the middle or later in the 1st round?
Like I posted earlier, if a high 1st round is available, would KD consider that the value of two mid to late 1st round picks? - boilermaker100
I am gonna guess KD wants the earliest picks
Lower meaning single digit slot.
What I trying to say is JD will consider THREE number ones from "a mid rounder finishing team" and that's why he says THREE.
If it is New Jersey who goes second I am sure JD doesn't ALSO want THREE from them...because all things (draft picks) are NOT equal≥
Davidson doesn't expect a team to give him, 2022, 2023, 2024....he would take them where the trading team keeps on in the middle:
Example:
a)Hawks get 2022, 2024, 2025....and their trading partner keeps 2023...
Or
b) Hawks get 2022, 2023, 2025....and their trading partner keeps 2024...
You know example a) is what is what teams would want -pick security in the generational draft.
If Elliotte Friedman is sure, I guess there is a chance the cat gets dealt to some sucker (team).
I am sure it makes for good press....I don't see Eliotte tweeting that... |

I just got this email from a friend:
"I play hockey almost everyday at 53rd. Today we got kicked off 10 minutes early because Toews was coming on with his skill coach. Most of the players I run into there are good guys who say hello and joke around Toews is a miserable sob. "
You have to wonder if Johnny is just in a bad way. |

Except Quick had a very good season last year, and Peterson faultered, right now Quick is their #1 goalie, and I highly doubt they are looking to move him (unless an overpay of course)
And you couldn't get Kupari alone for a 5th let alone with Quick. LA does not have to move quick to be cap compliant. Since they got Fiala, if they want to move out salary, Iafalo would probably be the first to go.
Other problem is prospect wise, the Kings are weakest in goal. The third goalie is Garrett Sparks. - LAHawk Just spitballing

Can you really blame him? He went from competing for cups to not being close to the playoffs. His body made him take an entire year off, and he is still trying to get back to some semblance of his old self. Now the new GM has made it clear they don't expect to do anything to make them competitive in the next couple of years on a team he likely doesn't WANT to leave (the only one he's ever been part of).
You can say "buck up, you make millions to play a game." all you want, but in the end that situation would have an effect on anyone. |

Makar, Landeskog, Ratanen and MacKinnon who are their best players were all drafted and who they built around.
Other players they had in surplus or that didn't fit like Duchene or Zadarov or Barrie were moved out to fill gaps or replenish their talent pool. Girard came back in the Duchene deal for example as well as the pick that got them Byram. Barrie got them Kadri.
Existing picks were used to add players like Toews or Kuemper to round out the line up.
That isn't unexpected.
The Hurricanes and Rangers are similar.
The Lightning and Flames drafted most of their line up. - fattybeef
And weren't the bolded all on the team when it earned 48 pts?

I stumbled upon some light hearted news upon doing a Google search.
Two things players always have done is bet on the horses and play cards. This I contribute but the detail below is from Google search
Apparently Joe Pavelski Queen of Clubs beat Steve Stamkos 4 of Clubs
The Lightning just couldn't go all the way this past season. |

Elliotte Friedman reporting that the Lightning are starting to make the inevitable tough roster choices due to the cap by working with Ryan McDonagh to find a good fit for him elsewhere.
McDonagh has 4 years left at $6.75M AAV and a full NTC. - Theo Fox
Hoping no one left to save them now that Stan is gone.
Still irks me that Stan took Johnson. No one helped out Stan when he was winning cups and in financial straights |

Good to see kd is sticking to his guns and not caving. My thought he might be waiting for draft or the day before. One thing is the hawks do not have to trade Debrincat. They keep him resign him and build around him or revisit trade talks at the tdl. The one question I have with Debrincat is does he want to stay for a rebuild? |
