Take both contracts for Calgary’s first this year and a prospect or another draft pick. Both contracts expire after this season. If Calgary aren’t interested they don’t gain $11.5M in cap space, too bad so sad for them.

This is how I believe KD will make the most headway. Teams like CAL, MIN, maybe VGK, TB, etc. Take a crap 1-2 year contract for a high end prospect or two.

I was poking around capfriendly and noticed that Seth Jones' new contract AND full NMC must have kicked in.

So for anyone fantasizing about him being moved, I think it's extremely unlikely at this point unless he wants out.

I was thinking the same thing a few days ago. Some of their top prospects are C Connor Zary, LW Jacob Pellitier and LW Matt Coranato. One of those and Calgary's 2023 1st (they don't have a 2022 1st) giving them 11.5M in cap space, which would pay for one of Gaudreau or Tkachuck with a million or 2 left over.

They also have only 4D signed with Kylington as a RFA. Maybe Hawks throw in Beaudin or rights to Kalynuk.

You spelled Reichel wrong.

I saw Friedman reporting things are heating up with Kevin Fiala did not realize he put up 85 PTs last year. in the final year of RFA. turns 26 in 2 weeks.

Sounds like the finalists for #NHLBruins are David Quinn, Jay Leach and Vellucci. Many believe Quinn is the front runner for the job. We'll see.

All obviously better choices that Richardson under any circumstances.

It does for sure, i think i accidently flagged you, sorry about that. My son was telling me about this new procedure for those kind of injuries. The RB for the LA Rams had it done and i think he was back less than a year. I guess the incision is so much smaller now, so less scar tissue which means the faster they can train on it.

We're on the same page. The only fly in the ointment with the Calgary trade is Lucic has an 8 team trade list through June 30, 2022, then a 10 team trade list through next season. Doubt if Chicago is on that list.

The only bright spot for the Panthers is they could put Duclair on LTIR for most of the season and use his 3M to play around with.

If you read the new Athlete trade proposal of DeBincat and Ottawa Senator's, here is a my Ridly Greig profile from his draft year:
Edgy Dub centte-wing with strong stick-handling abilities that combine with his excellent skating, edge control, high motor and propensity to be a disturber. Does the grunt work but also has nice touch as a passer who can thread the needle through seams in traffic. Constantly poking at opposing players when the referees are occupied elsewhere. Can get off his shots quickly and accurately. Can slow down or speed up things as needed. Not the biggest player, he will use his body to separate the puck from the enemy, no matter their size. He can be a downright pain in the ass to play against. He will be asked to handle tough minutes,high percentage of defensive zone starts,against the other teams top lines in the early pro career. Can act as a pest to opposing goalies too. The NHL has already embraced its share of tough hard-nosed SOBs who can play centre and wing bring scoring with physicality. There is skill here and lots of aggressive attitude. Now, will he work on adding a lot more strength to the package? His father, Mark Greig, is currently a Flyers amateur scout and played parts of nine NHL seasons in Philadlephia and other cities..

Scott Powers had a jointly written article today in the Athletic with the Senators reporter on what a DeBrincat trade to Ottawa would look like. Here's what they ended up proposing.

Senators receive:
* Alex DeBrincat

Blackhawks receive:
* 2022 1st (7th overall)
* 2022 2nd (63rd overall)
* Ridly Greig
* Jacob Bernard-Docker
* Matt Murray (25% retained)

The pot would be sweetened for the Sens if DeBrincat signs a contract extension.

This trade proposal is pretty on point with what I would predict.

If the Hawks are able to get rid of some other contracts before this trade goes down, then they could sweeten the pot even more by taking on Murray's full cap hit. And if that's the case, upgrade the 2nd rounder to another 1st rounder or either Greig or Bernard-Docker to Shane Pinto.

I would take Greig and Pinto.

Doubt Sens fans would go for any of that but teams have to give to get (maybe not exactly what I would suggest or even what Powers would either).
