Which of the teams in the top 10 picks this year would (1) Debrincat be willing to sign long-term to play with (and you have to believe with those 10 teams that there is a direct correlation between signing long-term and securing major assets in return) and (2) can afford or would be willing to build into their budget Debincat's likely salary in an extension with a team that isn't great now.

This is all compounded by the cap not going up much and all teams scrambling to deal with unfavorable contracts. Maybe there is a good match out there, but it is hard to see a good match with Ottawa or New Jersey.

Detroit would be a good match Buffalo be another. If thise teams that want debricant they will find a way to fit him into the cap

I talked to Al Cimaglia for an hour as he has hip surgery, I had a captive audience.

(BTW his email is @gmail.com. with his name in front if you want to hit him up while he has time.

He said he got the DeBrincat return details from a very reliable source and we discussed the enormous De-cat return asked had to do with team's who weren't selecting really early in the first so the teams who you can safely predict are going to drafting in mid and late first round.

Al did make a good point that coach was hired because he played with MacIver, but Luke Richardson knew before his first press introduction that he had time to call what he referred to as his "core" , Kane, Towes and Jones to talk.
But, when asked )after he referred to them as the core and how they are gonna be instrumental, etc.) No to the question had he talked to them.

Thought about that too.

I am not sure that the Wings have that elite passing defender the Hawks need to play the new style along with Seth Jones.

I thought I would call Jarmo in Columbus.

StanBo and Jarmo bantered about the return for Seth Jones and I thought I recalled DeBrincat was mentioned in some returns...so

Was / Is Jarmo willing to help change the deal's deficit in draft picks by throwing some back our way... fro the 'cat.

Would like to elaborate on what a possible return would be from Columbus for d c at. Personally I don't see a fit with that team.

Not sure what quite that means. The ask of multiple 1sts is if that team's picks will be in the middle or later in the 1st round?

Like I posted earlier, if a high 1st round is available, would KD consider that the value of two mid to late 1st round picks?

They were some posts earlier referencing where would Cat be happy long term. Seems as if all star players always wants to leave Columbus - Jones, Panarin, Dubois, now possibly Laine. Doubt if Debrincat will be any different and want to stay there either.

Most likely player equivalent to a 1st round selection in recent drafts and normal 1st round picks would be my understanding.

Who wants to play hockey in a city where the 3rd string tight end at OSU is more important to the fans?

Elliotte Friedman reporting that the Lightning are starting to make the inevitable tough roster choices due to the cap by working with Ryan McDonagh to find a good fit for him elsewhere.

McDonagh has 4 years left at $6.75M AAV and a full NTC.

Another good fit for the Kings, They are saying goodbye to Edler and Matta on the left side, just leaves Mikey Anderson and Bjonfort.

Might be a little tight with cap space (16 contracts with $12M left), but I'm sure they can finagle.

See if there is trade where the hawks take quick's contract and prospect. We need a goalie or two. I see killhorn being dealt and Tampa resigning palat.

Except Quick had a very good season last year, and Peterson faultered, right now Quick is their #1 goalie, and I highly doubt they are looking to move him (unless an overpay of course)

And you couldn't get Kupari alone for a 5th let alone with Quick. LA does not have to move quick to be cap compliant. Since they got Fiala, if they want to move out salary, Iafalo would probably be the first to go.

Other problem is prospect wise, the Kings are weakest in goal. The third goalie is Garrett Sparks.

Yep, just saw the same thing.

Elliott Friedman reporting the Hawks have turned down a "hefty" offer for DeBrincat that would have included multiple firsts, one of them being very high.

https://twitter.com/CMBol...fer-for-alex-debrincat%2F

Glad that KD is sticking to his trade demands and not budging from it. The Hawks need a HAUL to move ADB.
