Not that there is a record keeper, but, for the record;
Think its insane to trade DCat.
What are the odds if you go 3 prospects and 3 draft picks even one of those would be as good as DCat. Especially after the last two years which history will probably show were the worst two years for young hockey players development..........
You'll be wishing you had Dcat 3 years from now.
He has worked and did everything they have asked from him. Improved his skating, defense and scores at a ridiculous pace.
And as you say, he's only 24.
Just seems like absolute lunacy to me. - vabeachbear
Have to agree to a point ,sounds like he is just evaluating the market .Say thought they get offer NJ #2 and a prospect like Mercer or Hughes and Montreal don't select Wright and it sounds like they may not .Then I say yea maybe none of those players gets 40 goals ,but you may end up with two very good players doing other thing very well .Its a team game you got to spread the talent around .

Wild got cap squeezed there. Not a great return for a 25 year old who just came of 33 goals and 85 points. |

Fair, I guess a caveat to my statement would be what they get back. Guess it was on the tail of the theoretical trade with Ottawa which sounded awful to me.
To give Davidson credit, I didn't want to trade Hagel, but I would have pulled the trigger on that trade for the Hawks in a heart beat.

They won't be good 3 years from now. It will be at least 5 and probably closer to 7 or 8 provided they do everything right.

It is lunacy and I wish people would stop with this nonsense. ABD is the nucleus for the new core.

Devil's Philly Ottawa Detroit Anaheim which one of those teams pony up the asking price for Debrincat. If not met maybe revisit it at the tdl or sign him and build around him. |

Right and all these teams that are supposedly doing it the right way can't find that guy because goal scorers in the NHL don't grow on trees. That's why i hope they work out some kind of deal with Kubs

A 20 something pick in this year's draft and a prospect, (frank) that
Good thing we don't have to trade him like Minny had to |

Gotta start someplace he's the offensive guy, Jones the defensive whether we like it or not.

Cat has about 35 more career goals and comparable total points in 50 less career games than Fiala. He'll probably be in the 9.5 to 10M range.

Brock Faber is a really good defensive prospect, so I am surprised, I didn't know the Kings Dee was lock.
#19 ov real might get the Wild a shot at player but to me, the draft drops a bit unless Owen Pickering is the target...
I dunno, I don't think Fiala is that good...he played with good players, so maybe he is.
Nice return for the Wild? Nothing is for sure.
At least I know we aren't getting the #19 for 'cat...not trading him is better than trading him to the Kings... |

With all these rumors he might actually go for a little less to stay here. |

Why? He will get that money wherever he goes, and more likely than not a much better chance of playing playoff hockey. And any of the teams he will be traded to will be just as nice a city as Chicago
