Rights to JOB..... - hello it's me 2050
And from the top rope comes HELLO.
I get so frustrated when i look at how we didn't take Maker or even Heiskenen and then we also took O'Brien over Miller.

So here’s the deal…. A friend of mine daughter has a condition that they have to go to childrens in Philly every 3 months for treatment. Well about year ago they were there wearing Sabres gear And their nurse says you in town watching game too? Says her fiancé plays hockey. Yep jg fiancé. Well my buddy wife and her become friends and talk to each other
Anyways so according to her jg definitely coming to east coast as now wife is in Philly and torn between philly and some other better east coast teams. Wife torn between leaving philly to move to Boston ny etc.
So after playoff run jg decided he and wife want to stay in Philly and as of a few days ago he’s agreed to sign in Philly.
Now obviously this can’t be leaked yet by some in the know per tampering rules but for hb debates moving forward he will be on roster.
He’s signing here. No details pervided of term or money just it’s a done deal they’ve agreed on the contract and it’s hush hush. - Stayin alive
Thank you, Simone

Sorry, who is JG ? - BluehorseShoe64
I've been predicting JG will come here for a while but I don't know how they'll make the cap work or if it's a wise move even if they can.
What I do not want to see is us sending out picks so that a team like zona could take JVR off our hands. Maybe a buyout is an option but again, looking at cap hell and that's not good either.

You also have the scenario, if they were to get into a bidding war with Colorado, if Colorado sends you a much better package they immediately know it was a bluff. You alienate a trade partner down the road and potentially other GMs in Sakics circle. It’s just an absurd take from a commenter who has many. - ClaudeFather
absurd take hahahahahhaha
1) Knowledge of Giroux telling teamamtes he's only going to FL is absolute heresay and conjecture. If he did, did those teamates go running to tell Joe Sakc...get the f out with this ish
2) Only 3 people in the negotiations should have known Gs true feelings. G, his agent, and Fletcher.
It makes no sense for either G or his rep, to put it out there he's only going to Fl. NONE.

JVR can be moved by just retaining some money. He still has value and if your getting a 20 goal scorer for say 3.5-4 million compared to 7 there is a deal to be made. I do think Konecny is also possibly moved and that would be about 5.5 million. Also i don't think both Laughton and Lindblom are back. One will be moved as both make 3milion on the cap.
But I don't want Gaudreau. I would only want him if your moving out a deal like Hayes. |

The current situation of the team 100% played a part. Especially if it was reported he took multiple interviews with the team. - ClaudeFather
I guess this is another of my absurd takes |

Hind sight is 20/20 on picks and it's obvious we'd like to have that one back. I wonder if NJ is also kicking themselves for not having selected Makar? Unfortunately, the consensus at that time was Hischier and Patrick 1 and 2. I also wonder if Colorado knew for certain that they had a future star in Makar and had the cahones to just pray that he fell to them. I doubt it.

anything is possible, but given Fletchers negotiating history, Ill take the most likely option and not the conspiratorial |

I have a feeling that either TK or Provy are gone. I get a sense that management may be tired of them stagnating in development. I also don't think JG moves the needle enough but good or bad, I have a sense that this will happen. Not from rumours, but from the fact he's not signed yet in calgary and has stated before he'd like to play here.
I also thought we'd make the playoffs as a lower seed last year, so clearly I am an idiot when it comes to hockey haha |

Hischier has been fine.
Patrick has been a bust.
Colorado probably figured they were getting one of the top defenders so they just stayed in place.

If they knew they were getting an absolute stud, they deserve to be cup champs.
What I will say is that generally, a top dman has more value than a top forward and is harder to get so it was smart of them. Never in my life did I ever think that Patrick would be so terrible but hockey's a late development sport.

I think things being equal i would lean to defenders because so much harder to find top end defenders.

It didn't cost the Flyers dearly. The Flyers themselves cost the Flyers dearly. When you give a NMC this is what you deserve. I will not fault CC for wanting to go to where he went only.
Have the Flyers done right by him? Wasting his career? Now he had a hand in that as at any tine he could have asked to be moved.
He wanted Florida as it was lower pressure, not a lot of media, and if they lost no one will give a crap. Winning wasn't his main priority. - hello it's me 2050

Not fair!
No not everyone else, just you and your delusions. No matter how many people told you Colorado was not trading Newhook. It didn't matter to you. You stated numerous times that the Flyers were going to get one of Newhook or Lundell. Nothing to do with Fletcher. Another ridiculous statement. I'm on record stating that Fletcher did a good job with the Gioux trade and maximized the return. - MJL
Of course Fletcher did a good job, what else could he have done given his hands were completely tied by Giroux? What else could you conclude? Again, I never stated the Flyers were getting Newhook or Lundell, but only if I were Fletcher I would pushed hard for either one of them. However knowing what I know now, there was absolutely no way Fletcher would get any impactful player given what little he had to work with. |

Hypothetically, what purpose would Giroux's camp have to leak that? What does he gain? You know, this has all be gone over and explained to you previously. Like normally, that doesn't matter. Complete inability to learn. - MJL
Since you asked, I think Giroux wanted to be sure Florida was where he went and thus I believe his camp made it clear to everyone where he wanted to go. Like you said, that was his right ... Flyers be dammed! |

Sometimes it has nothing to with what is there to gain.
Once chuck told him he will not guarantee an ext maybe CC got pissed. Nah that can’t be a possible scenario as CC shoulders no responsibility at all for anything negative that has happened with this team according to you. - hello it's me 2050
so true, is completely taboo to insinuate anything negative towards Giroux to some on this forum. |

Look at Stamkos burying mackinnon, blocking shots, fighting. It needs to be a total buy in. I’d agree that the Flyers are lacking talent and the will to win. You need to play hard. This current team has zero identity. - ClaudeFather
Hopefully Torts can change that, and Fletcher can start bringing in more high end talent. A little more health will go a long way as well. Geez, Farabee with neck surgery, when will it end? |

How about the folks on here asking why didn’t Farabee have neck surgery sooner. The kid is 22, this operation should be the LAST option. Idiotic but par for the course here. |

Your mistake is in thinking that he had to or should do that. - Scoob
Wait, I am not saying he had to do anything. But given that, am I not then allowed to be angered by the fact that the Flyers could not maximize the return of one of their most key assets? |
