the new law Trudeau wants to put in place isn't necessarily a bad idea, but the thing is it doesn't really have an impact on the current gun problem in Montreal for example, because the firearms used in those gang wars were usually acquired illegally in the first place. so basically they're just annoying the folks that had already acquired them in a perfectly legal fashion, while the street thugs can continue literally printing those guns and using them lol

I don't necessarily consider myself a "Trudeau hater" but in this case I do think it's a classic classic example of a politician who is trying to look good while not having to make a huge effort for it lol
