750 K in year one, 775 K in year two, not a lot to dislike there. Clearly the guy is aware he won’t have a big role and is fine with it. Like you said, good teammate as well so thats a win.

Also, let's not kid ourselves...Players aren't going to come running to sign here this summer. They will need some veteran players.

Big night for Ylonen last night with Laval, 3pts, was involved on both side of the rink. The door is open for him next year, up to him to earn it.

Glad Harvey-Pinard finally scored. He's playing well, but didn't get rewarded so far these playoffs.

Symba, I listened to the The athletic podcast where they met Wright, Slaf and Cooley.

Very interesting indeed, especially the part where Wright said he really focused on helping his team defensively which might have been at the cost of more offense.

I'm still convinced he's our guy.

2 yrs, time for the kids to develop and the Habs should be a contender...for a top 5 pick again, not the best situation to attract UFA's anyway

a Franchise Center is on the table at #1 for the Habs...if they pass on Wright for the winger they are insane. If they can somehow steal the 2nd pick away from the Devils, then great...but otherwise its team Wright....all the way!

We currently have alot of players having great seasons/playoffs in junior.

Between Guhle, Mysak, Xhekaj, Roy and Kidney... the future looks very interesting if you ask me.

The three bolded will be done with junior and will start their pro careers. Wouldn't be surprised if Guhle makes the team right away. He's physically ready at least.

Finally the Rocket will get some youth influx...Habs drafted well the past few years, the kids will start to move up

I get he's not Cale Makar.

But people who keep saying Guhle couldn't because a first pairing defenseman are wrong, I think he could very well make it. Underrated offensive abilities inside a very complete package.

I like the idea of sticking a core group of a group of young players together and learning to win as a group, then slowly brining them up to the NHL.

Create a winning culture throughout the organization - learn to play as a team, learn the commitment it takes to win, etc..

2 year contract extension for Wideman, guess he’s a good back up for the kids, plus a R shooting d…
- Karine Hains

Seemed inevitable they wanted to keep him around, after he was not dealt at the trade deadline.

Good depth, seems like a decent guy, can move up to second pair in case of injuries or something else not working, for a few games.

A lot will depend on what they end up doing with Petry, and if traded, what they get back in return.

I am all for keeping some of the kids in Laval until Xmas, give them time to develop and adjust to the pro level.

First step: Extend Chris Wideman

Then a few more steps...

Final Step: Win Stanley Cup.

His team had 10 rookies this year, he played the first half of the season with 2 rookies on his wing. Apart from him, his team was not very good, which impacts his stats for sure. They should be better next year if he is around but the best for him would be to get traded to a strong team with a good coach, lots of questions about his coach also.

Coming to the NHL where he will have much better wingers should help him plus MSL should be able to unlock some of that offense he has but was not able to use last season
