I use Mack because him and Willie are almost the same age. Mack had played almost 200 more games by the time Willie played his 1st full season. I’m reading that Mack wasn’t as good ( stats wise ) obviously when he’s playing in the same league 2-3 years before others…other things factor in also, usage - linemates etc etc.
Those are the things I would have been using if I was GM, I like Dubas but some things I would have done differently as we all would have I’m sure.

THEYRE ALL OVERPAID!!!

especially what I look at my pay check

Lol I’m just happy to be working again

Not sure I should mention it but Mackinnon got $6.85 million this year so the difference you’re bringing up isn’t all that severe lol

Not to mention the taxation he’s up against is far less.

And mushrooms are decriminalized in Denver so they could get him to sign his next contract for anything: a dozen DQ blizzards

If we’re looking at Mack vs Nylander and $$$ he’s overrated.

I love Willie when he has the puck!!!

Tbh I’d take Nylander over Mack because the leafs already have two preferable top 6 C’s

You had me until you wanted to trade Sandin. We need low cost players. He's just going to get better. Id be all for trading for Chychrun, but not sure it makes sense anymore.
- Archaic

I'm not a monster advocate for trading for Chychrun, but that cost on that term can't be ignored. Reality is if Sandin gets to where he needs to be he's going to cost more then that anyways, may as well go for the guy who's already locked in.

Jon Cooper on Toronto's playoff vibe and encouraging players to avoid it:

"We love the fact that the city is embracing it, because it's good for our sport. But it's like I tell our guys, you want to get on social media and you want to enjoy all this stuff, do it at the parade."

Is Jonny Pooper telling us to Plan the Parade?

He really is a poopbag! Hope that great crowd gives the Leafs a little extra motivation tonight, I'm sure the blackboard in the room has plenty.

Sandin doesn’t have arbitration rights and hasn’t truly left the bottom pairing so he’s not going to get a big contract

The big difference will be he’ll get the same pay in the AHL if he’s not up with the leafs.

There's that too, but that probably furthers the argument. Who's gonna serve a team trying to be a perennial cup threat better at the moment... Chychrun or Sandin.

He's not gonna get a big contract this time around but if his agent was smart he'd be fishing for a 1 or 2 year deal and going for the bank next time around.

We can all point to the Subban issue where he was pissed and got a Norris for all the money in the world instead of signing a longterm mid tier deal...but at the end of the day a contending team like the Leafs probably get the most value out of a hungry Sandin on a 1-2 year 2mil deal proving he's worth 8mil vs a 6-7 year 4-5mil deal he hasn't even come close to earning (KK).

Resign Gio on the cheap, resign Boosh. Trade Sandin in a deal for Chychrun, trade Muzzin.

After winning the cup of course. 👍

So we have moved on from this?

I wish the Leafs had done a throw back to the pre game / pre Leafs taking the ice intro from the 1992 playoff where The Gardens went pitch black, and blasting of the speakers on 10 was Welcome to the Jungle and they took the ice. Just to really mess with Tampa's heads they could have had this on every single screen in the place including the scoreboard. Man they missed the opportunity of a lifetime!

Quite a few tbh (I use nhl66)

Yes he’s a great player but Matthews is better and I love JT as the captain.

So no thanks.
