I really hope this is firing up the Leafs even further. And if they really can come out and take it to them, even in the first period, they'll fold pretty badly.

Coming out, and thinking, you gave away a game, only to have that team stomp you again, is deflating. They'd have to think there is nothing they can do.

I don't think Vasilievskiy had a bad game, I thought he played well for the most part.. Some of the goals (the 5th goal was his fault) but the first four goals were tough to stop for any goalie.. The Muzzin goal, he was screened... Matthews goal was an absolute rocket. Kampf was on a breakaway and Marner's was a pretty goal all around..

The Leafs as a 5 man unit were able to shut down Point, Stamkos and Kucherov. They did a really good job of taking away time and space from Hedman.

I know that it’s the Leafs, so we have to discount everything they do, but sorry, I do not agree with the notions that Tampa was lethargic or they played bad or they weren’t ready.

Tampa seemed a bit flat....but the leafs did dominate them. It was their best game ever!
I expect Tampa will come out hard and firing on all cylinders tomorrow.

I scrutinize every game and always come in here to discuss the bad stuff. I don't have much to say about last night. It was one of the greatest Leafs games I have watched in a long time....and it wasn't because Tampa played poorly. Tampa just lost.

It was only 1-0 after the first. Tampa played well except after the 5m PP they were demoralized but they came to play. Leafs crushed their Disney World hating souls.
