Sorry, but you have a little writing still to do:

OK, gentlemen, sharpen your #2 pencils - the Official Hockeybuzz NHL 2022 Playoffs Prediction Thread is live:

https://www.hockeybuzz.co...post_id=22264783#22264783

Please note: unlike my other prediction threads, this is NOT Leaf-focused. So fans of all 32 teams are welcome to participate.

There is no prize. There isn't even an evaluation mechanism.

This is strictly a way for you to make your hockey geniusness known to the Hockeybuzz community, so you can tell us all "I told you so" when Nashville wins the Stanley Cup.

The rules are simple: cut and paste the template, and fill it out.

The thread will be locked at 7 pm tonight, and for the rest of the playoffs, you can trash talk anyone who made dumb predictions.

Hope to see you there.

Sens won't give Victor Mete a qualifying offer.

Shame for him but Mete really was a casualty of the Canadiens' inability to develop young players. Thrown straight in the deep end, he swam for a bit and then sunk...

Yes and no.

Yes, he was mishandled, no question about it.

But at the end of the day, his defensive plays and lack of actual offensive upside is the reason he's sinking.

The one thing he has going for him is his skating, and it's just not enough.

He doesn't have a shot. At the NHL level, if you don't already have one, it's a bit late to develop that.

Some can compensate for that.

Morgan Rielly in Toronto has a very weak shot but moves the puck well, controls it well and passes it well.

Mete doesn't have the toolset to compensate for what could be the weakest shot in the NHL.

According to Mathias Brunet, Norlinder is on his way to Montreal and will join the Laval Rocket for the Layoffs.

And the very subtle maple leaf in the logo doesn't inspire much confidence does it?

Almost like they could sell it to another team for round 2!
