Sounds like Price wants to be paid on LITR.

Either way, he is done - officially or unofficially.

this is to be expected, just like in Weber's case an official retirement would be very surprising.

Kinda sad, in the end that unexpected cup run will have ended the career of the Habs two pillars…

I think he's doing everything he can to come back.

But at some point, if the knee isn't healing, there's no way around it.

And unlike Weber, he'd be leaving way too much money on the table if he were to retire.

basically they simultaneously lost their #1dman/captain and their #1 franchise goalie... very sad indeed.

I think he did try everything to come back, I am not discounting his effort this year and his desire to keep playing, but his body just won't recover to let him play with any regularity.

Perhaps I am reading into it, Price basically said he was retiring without officially retiring.

I think his specialist told him he was done, and he wants to see if another surgeon will say the same. But yeah i think he’s done too

It's really sad for Price but the Habs need to move on at this point.

A goalie with declining health/ability (with a huge contract) is not what the team needs during it's reconstruction. I'll be very surprised if he's still in the lineup in october.

Salary Cap wise ... with Price out (and Drouin/Byron likely out after next year and then Hoffman the next) that will eventually liberate a lot of room.

yeah it's not what the team needs in any kind of context, reconstruction or not...

with all the medical and technological progress that was made through the years I'm surprised they can't just build him some sort of bionic knee, that would be even better than his original one, with a meniscus Dr.Mulder could only dream of.

But then you'd have to worry about other team's computer guys hacking his knee ... they could make his leg do the Charleston dance when their team gets in our zone.

good point, but I'm sure with a proper VPN he'd be fine...

and they could update it once in a while as the technology progresses... the possibilities would be endless.

Hughes, à propos de Weber : « Je suis conscient que Shea a reçu beaucoup de critiques. Sa situation est complexe et il y a quelques problèmes par rapport aux assurances, la ligue, desquels nous ne pouvons pas discuter. »

You don't have to be able to read between the lines to understand that inviting Jeff Petry and Dom Ducharme to the same party might not be a good idea.

Est-ce que Jeff Petry pourrait demeurer avec le Canadien ?
https://www.rds.ca/hockey...rer-a-montreal-1.15710087

The whole team started performing after St-Louis became the coach ... I guess Ducharme wasn't the most popular guy around.

Sure, in summary (my own words):

Petry got frustrated with coach Ducharme because he kept clinging to some game concepts (and doing things the same way over and over again) while getting the same poor results.

He also says that the situation is now very different (in a good way) since Martin St-Louis became coach as his approach let's him contribute better to the team. He says it took him a few weeks to find his way again.
(I think the results Petry got in the last 10 games proves his point).

He also says he's open to stay in Montreal if the Habs decide so ... he would be open to bringing his family back to Montreal. He missed them terribly (which is perfectly understandable).

PS: This is clear proof that coming to the rink pissed off day in day out can have a bad effect on morale.
