Sure, in summary (my own words):
Petry got frustrated with coach Ducharme because he kept clinging to some game concepts (and doing things the same way over and over again) while getting the same poor results.
He also says that the situation is now very different (in a good way) since Martin St-Louis became coach as his approach let's him contribute better to the team. He says it took him a few weeks to find his way again.
(I think the results Petry got in the last 10 games proves his point).
He also says he's open to stay in Montreal if the Habs decide so ... he would be open to bringing his family back to Montreal. He missed them terribly (which is perfectly understandable).
PS: This is clear proof that coming to the rink pissed off day in day out can have a bad effect on morale. - Garfield512
So he chose to be part of the problem, instead of the solution.
He’s proven to be a terrible first pairing d.
First in edm, now in mtl.
Decent 2nd pairing.
The brain don’t move to the stick fast enough, not his fault, he has what he has..

so that's actually beer..? huh, very interesting color, sure doesn't look like something that would taste anything like beer. I'm intrigued. - Pat1993
As of me, I was more intrigued by the fact that Adam uses a coaster for his glass of beer but not for the can. |

He certainly isn't blameless in the whole debacle but a lot of players also underperformed under Ducharme (*cough* Gallagher *cough*).
Where there's smoke there's fire.
I agree, he's much better suited as a 2nd pairing D ... and at his age (and cap hit) it might be preferable to trade him while he still has value.
Get some picks/prospects while you can ... we won't be competitive for a few years anyway. |

I know you've never been the biggest Jeff Petry fan, but it would be kind of unfair to say he's been turrible prior to this season... |

Well if you look back, without Weber he’s been terrible.
Again not his fault, It’s all he’s got..

this year I agree, most of the time he's been simply painful to watch, but in previous seasons when Weber was out he managed to bring his game up a notch and was generally very reliable in his absence.

I’m not sure why you’re defending a -100 plus career d man.

just so you know, he has a career -121, get your facts straight, man.
but seriously though I'm not really trying to defend him, as a matter of fact I couldn't stand seeing his miserable face anymore in post-games, trying to explain why he's been playing like poop lol, but since he's been in MTL he was more often part of the solution than part of the problem.
and btw the +/- stat isn't the most reliable data, you have to take it with a grain of salt.

Um, -100 plus may have covered that.
My opinion remains, behind Weber he was ok, with Weber out, and he’s number one pairing, he’s was\is a (frank)ing train wreck.. |

say wut now?
anyway it's all good, I know you've made up your mind about the guy a long time ago, I'm just hoping if he stays that his play won't be anything like what we saw this year, he usually isn't that awful.
