Maybe Brendan Dillon, absolutely no way this is a serious offer for Morrissey

I actually see merit in the offer. If the Jets do trade away Scheifele this off-season and if some people get their way and trade away Hellebyucck as well, then what’s the point of keeping Morrissey? The Jets might as well try and trade away all their big money contracts in order to weaponize our cap space like Arizona and collect as many draft picks as possible for the 2023 draft. Sure we will be terrible like Ottawa and LA for a few years, but by 2027 we will be great again!

The Jets roster is too talented to not be making the playoffs in the West. Its a shame. Something is wrong with that room. Not a good sign when your coach quits and says that the teams needs a new voice.

Hellenbuyck traded!!?? That would be drastic! Any of you have a deal that would work for both teams involved?

Everyone speaks about the fabled about 2017-18 season. Your comment also suggests that you have given up all hope on Chevel363daysoff’s ability to construct a roster.

I imagine that Minnesota wants to hold onto Wallstedt, but that is the only goalie-out, goalie-in deal I can think of that could work.

Maybe Buffalo with Levi, but I think that Levi is more on track to be good when the Sabres are ready to be good, in 2-3 years.

I really can't think of another team with a high end goalie prospect, looking for a high end starter now.

Even Detroit and Ottawa, Detroit wants Cossa to be ready when they are, and the Senators, while they don't have a blue chip goalie prospect, have some high quality goalies in Søgaard and Gustavsson, who is trending down a little bit, as well as a flood of Merilainen, who was drafted with the pick sent over in the DeMelo trade, and Mandolese. So many teams are pretty set between the pipes, and if they aren't right now, they have a goalie for 2-4 years from now. The goalie market is dry.

Even just this season

Markstrom
Shesterkin
Saros
Sorokin
Andersen
Demko
Kuemper
Jarry
Vasilevsky

Are all having fantastic seasons, in a year where scoring is way up. It doesn't really make sense, but hey, it's a cool season to have watched. Each one of these goalies have a conversation for a Vezina nomination. I think Shesterkin has it locked in, and my picks for the runner ups would be Sorokin and Markstrom, but I can 100% see the argument for anyone.

I'm really curious about goalie prices in the market when nobody really needs one

I'm ready for complete rebuild, top-down. if done right, team can be competitive in 2 years not the 4-5 like you believe

Change Dumolin to Marcus Pettersson and I'd make that trade.

Chevy has had 11 years to rebuild the Atlanta roster and now miraculously he is going to rebuild it again in 2 years. History is a great predictor of future success. If I have learned anything about Chevy, it’s that he tried to do a hybrid rebuild, whereas he kept the Atlanta core while at the same time trying to create a whole new Jets core.

Furthermore I have yet to see a complete rebuild be done in the NHL in 2 years. Ottawa is a great example of getting rid of everybody in order to rebuild. Its 4 years in now.

any Helle trade would have to be made in connection to other big trades by the Jets. They would have to have a trade in place to bring in the next Jets goalie for 5-10 years as well.

as an example,

a Helle trade to the Avs that includes Newhook coming back
and
a Sheif trade to Florida that includes Knight coming back.

this is my train of thought

what merit is in that deal? you are taking on more salary and not improving for the future?

I would welcome Morrissey on the Ducks ... What kind of return would Jets need to make that happen ??

Picks or players ... what would be more attractive ?? Or a combo..

allow me to explain,
I want complete rebuild of coaches and management ( including chevy)
the players, maybe i have more confidence in some younger players than you do, maybe i can envision some moves that help sooner than you do, who knows. but Stanley is not part of my rebuild

ottawa and buffalo are taking way to long

LA with Kopitar and other vets on the team seem to be doing a good job!! back in the playoffs this year

Taking big money contracts that other teams want to rid themselves off in order to get more draft picks for the 2023 draft you speak off. It will take 4-5 years to for them to all realize their potential in the interim we are taking other teams garbage to get the picks. Just like Arizona.

LA had to keep Kopitar. Doughty and he had full NMC’s and now have modified NTC’s. If not for those provisions, both would have been dealt.

Can't see the Jets trading Hellebuyck with the division like Helle for the young Wild tender. Besides the Wild are really having cap issues, so that would be a problem.

Depending upon how the playoffs play out, Jacob do you not think that the Leafs, Bruins, Pens and Panthers could be very interested if they don't have playoff success?

These teams may not have young goalies to deal, but they have other interesting assets I am sure.

first,
i asked what merit you saw in the Pitt deal? there was no picks included and doesnt make us better today or tomorrow or save on cap?

secondly,
did you see my examples of trades for Helle and Sheif? you take two top 5 teams in the NHL, Avs and FLA, you give them an absolutely better shot a winning the cup in those 2 years with Shief or Helle and you get back players that play on the Jets today!!! in Newhook and Knight, who replace that center and G position and they would be in or close to their prime years in 2 years. 2 years, not 4-5.

I'm not saying all trades have to be for future draft picks!!!!!
