How many goals has AM34 scored in the past 49 games? If he scores a goal on Saturday, how many goals has he scored in 50 games? 🤔

I mean, if it's the hill you want to die on that he's actually played 66 games (soon to be 67) and that 50 in 50 consecutive games means Richard all, cool beans.

I think it's a silly hill though.

I've just said it took him 66 games to score 56, which is different than needing 50 games or less to score 50 goals.

I don't think it's a complicated distinction to grasp and I'm baffled as to why you guys are struggling with it and triggered by it.

Matthews is having arguably the greatest season in the history of the Leafs and the NHL as a whole, and he scored 56 goals in 66 games (not 50 in 66 as I typed earlier). That's awesome. At the 50 game marker, he did not have 50 goals as some other players have done. But he could do that next year.

The hills I'm willing to die on are loving Willy, Marner's contract being not bad, and the Leafs winning the Cup.

I know I'm usually a megadowner about all things Leaf so me slightly downplaying Matthews goals is probably the straw that broke the camel's back of my constant gloomy negativity.

I think it's impressive that he hasn't gone two games with out a goal since February

For the record I was shoulder deep in my ass when he scored that OT goal just like everyone else, just saying he didn't score 50 in 50. People can two things about that: 1) Nothing and 2) Like it.

I’m with you on this one. It’s sort of like Tiger completing the grand slam spread over two seasons. It’s great but not really a grand slam.
