As a team they’ve been below average in terms of speed and physicality for many years now.
It’s time to blow it up(doesn’t have to be a rebuild but a big roster shakeup).
In before some homer compares this core to COL/FLA again - Nucker101

Not two seasons ago. Bo was too big, too fast and no answer for his pressure.

Definitely on the same page. There are signs of skill, heart, determination, but just not enough of it. This team is capable of long stretches of good play but not for a whole season and into the playoffs.
The motivation really fell off after the TDL. Maybe they were hoping for more help. Maybe some were hoping to sell themselves for a trade. Losing the energy line certainly shows it's effect. It effects different aspects of the teams play like possession, forecheck which results in the D being freed up from lingering back or stepping up out of the neutral zone. Physical play is missed as well... coaching has to use the their players differently. Maybe maybe...
Oh well. If Benning didn't resign Green, this team probably sits 3rd in the division. Early team support for Demko would have assured it. Still wouldn't be a contender though. Roster needs a lot of work for that. - boonerbuck
Losing Motte for Richardson and Hamonic for Dermott hasn't helped matters. Still would like to see a full season under Boudreau before anything major happens.

True dat. Refreshing hearing someone else mention the Refs bad performances. - boonerbuck
Sad thing is it's getting worse across the whole league as we get closer to PO's. EDM-LA game was brutal last night should have for sure been a regulation win for EDM...but there was the Koskinen effect too lol |

Whoa now the Blues were very tired coming off that big cup win plus the covid thingy...and we caught them at the right time. Plus injuries in the bubble may have been a factor in Van winning that series over the cup champs...

Playoff hopes were dead in December, but if you want to hold out hope that’s ok too. There is still a mathematical probability for them to make the playoffs so 🤷♂️ |

lol nice remember that.
Well they did go 48-29-5 after 'changes were made' in 2014/15. Made the PO's in 2015
Little Victories?

Really meaningless, but if people want to hang onto them to make themselves feel better, have at it.
The change since Boudreau took over has been fun and entertaining, I’ll admit, however, the underlying issues are still there. Which has been beaten to death in here and in social media.
This first offseason for the new management team is going to be interesting, they have a lot of work to do and getting around the poor salary cap situation Benning left won’t be easy to dance around.
I’m looking forward to see how they approach things and what changes will be made. |

Nonis left a mess by Burke...Gillis left a mass by Nonis...Benning left a mess by Gillis and now Rutherford/Allvin left a mess by Benning. All redundant now at this point. I'm looking forward to what this roster can potentially do under Boudreau next season. But if moving Motte and Hamonic are any indication I highly doubt any few summer moves by this new group will be groundbreaking. Probably manage the cap Garland most likely gone, maybe a few others to create sme space in case they decide to sign Miller. Gonna be fun wither way lol

Like Jannik Hansen said, the whole makeup of the team is horrible, they’re lazy, they’re entitled bumholes, their two-way game is bad, Miller being one of the biggest culprits before he was called out by Boudreau, they’re slow, they’re not big or physical enough….and they rely on stellar goaltending way too much. |

Yup. I hope there are big changes this summer. A horrible team assembled by the worst GM in Canucks history. |

We needed the cap space from the departing players for next year. Dermott and Richardson weren't the reason we lost last night. Actually neither guy has looked bad. |

Never said they were. But there has been a drop in team effort/energy since the Motte departure very evident we miss his speed, tenicity and PK ability. Hamonic could go either way but we did get softer on D with Dermott. Decent player and all but just seeing it for what it is. As decent as Richardson and Dermott have looked they don't provide what we are missing with Motte/Hamonic gone IMO. |
