Both teams need to be good for a true rivalry to occur. We're still a long way from that. - buffalofan19
Not when you see each other twice a year. Vegas only comes here one time, and we only go there one time each season. I think me and the wife may be vacationing in Vegas next season for a few days around a hockey game. |

with the top-8 in the eastern conference set, barring a miracle, the leaves are falling and are close to dropping out of the top-3 in the atlantic...toronto is 5-4-2 in their last 11 with losses or ot losses to the blues, habs, jackets (ot), sabres, nucks and yotes (ot)...only st. louis is presently in a playoff spot |

I'm just trying to take the game ffor what it really is. It was a fun night and almost definitely the highlight of the season.
However, I still think Vegas makes the playoffs and makes noise in it, despite the slump they're in. They were hammered with injuries earlier this year. I would still rather be them. |

In fairness, Eichel signed a deal with a memorabilia company that allowed it to be the sole distributor of his name and likeness outside official team gear. I forgot the name of it. I would assume that company paid him a lot of money for that, so I would imagine he was getting pressure from said company to do that. - buffalofan19

Nothing about Craig Anderson’s 300th win. I feel like that got lost in everything. Although I didn’t back read. Good for Anderson. |

It did, but very happy for him. Grandpa Andy deserved it, played a hell of a game.

The team had a very nice video tribute for him after the 3 stars. I would say 8 or 9000 fans were still there cheering through the whole thing.. It was really well done. |

I was kinda thinking the same thing. There is an intellectual dishonesty to a lot of it. There are plenty of things not to like about him - no reason to just start throwing crap against the wall.

I don't know, I think they are in serious trouble (especially if Lehner is iffy). They are a pretty good team but I don't think they are in the top 6 in that conference. And as someone else noted, they aren't getting any younger. They got Eichel because their window is now.

listening to eichel after the game last night makes me appreciate josh allen even more - homiedclown
Jack is immature for sure, last night exposed his childishness.
In reality how much more stupid does it make the Pegulas look to have propped up a spoiled kid and give him the world?
Another massive blow to the image of an incompetent ownership with puppets for management. I want the rivalry and want to beat Jack, but lets not pretend he was the only star hockey player to publicly expose how absolutely horrible the Pegulas are and how bad its been in the place.
Stay on focus, the Pegulas are gooch sniffers and they choose and continued to prop up Eichel creating last night.
Last night was fun because our team tried and the fans got involved, it's still pathetic that ownership let it get to this and was a continuation of the embarrassment that is Pegula Sports & entertainment. |

Jacob Bryson lit up Eichel.
5'9" Jacob Bryson. I don't remember Eichel getting hit like that pre-injury. He's not his old self yet and he wasn't ready for that game. The fans rattled him.
I expected him to lean into it and rise to the boos but he was shook. |

Its his 10th game in over a year after neck surgery...his skating was better than anyone on the Sabres...it wasn't close...his timing and aggressiveness was way off but he didn't shy form the physical game...he was for sure emotional and the old Jack played at a higher gear when he was like that.
Fun game and I don't want to take anything away form the Sabres or the fans, I want him to continue to improve and really want to see how he plays in the playoffs. He needs to be stronger mentally or this trade was a steal.

I watched the highlights again this morning and what struck me is that you almost never hear the boos for him in the entire 9 minute highlight package because he was so irrelevant in creating offense overall.
Hopefully that game lets people in Buffalo move on. Jack got what Jack wanted and he took his skill and attitude to Vegas. |
