FWIW, that's a .586 points percentage and would have the Hawks 1 spot out of the 2nd WC spot:

DAL .594 WC #1
NSH .593 WC#2
CHI .586
VGK .582
EDM .582

Literally the definition of a 'bubble team'.

Not really, what do other teams record's look like if you cherry pick their injury situation?

Another hire from inside the organIzation.
- Mr Ricochet

Question is he overseeing permanently, or until Davidson finds who he really wants?

PROGRESS

GM of the year candidate. Ricco, you must be as happy as I am that they are changing the hockey ops

- LAHawk

Good that they shuffled the deck a bit but the new guy is on an interim basis, so that's good that a new guy runs the draft. Been with the club since 09 so he's not a new set of eyes.

Does KD know enough people from around the league to hire from outside the organIzation?

Right. They probably need someone from inside the organIzation to make draft recommendations for this yr who is not Kelley at this late date.

So i guess most are trade Kubalik or let him walk?

That really worked out well for us with Suter? Still don't know wtf Bowman was doing. And they promoted him

- BetweenTheDots

If you can use his $4 mil better on the open market that's doing something. Suter's $3 mil I would say the same thing.

I am sure glad you are not in charge of the rebuild, in love with a bunch of 27 year old forwards that would not crack the top 6 on a bubble playoff team.
- LAHawk

Wouldn't crack top 13 on a good team and he wants to pay $3 + mil.

So how has our US amateur scouting been since 2009?

Doneghey has been with the Blackhawks since 2009 and was previously the team’s head U.S. scout. and director of player evaluation and recruitment.

Hope we don't lose the Euro scouting group with Kelley's departure. Going to be interesting if he find a role with another team.

I'm sure glad none of you and Bowman are handling this rebuild.

Yea Suter is worth nothing, i guess nothing players get $3 million dollar contracts.

- BetweenTheDots

The Red Wings signed Suter because Jacob Vrana was going to be out all season. he is a placeholder, nothing more, nothing less.

So the board does not want to trade Hagel, Kubalik, Strome but wants to do a tear down and rebuild. Who are we going to trade to get some useable assets back?

Blackhawks confirm that assistant GM Ryan Stewart and scouting director Mark Kelley have left the organization.

Mike Donaghey will oversee the Hawks’ amateur scouting on an interim basis, and the Hawks’ pro scouts will report directly to Kyle Davidson.

Someone needs to check him for 'roids or other drugs. He's had some major rage control problems this year.

Yeah, he got clipped in the mouth pretty bad, and lost his poop. Losing to AZ will do that.

Yeah I taped the game last night so I could watch the Hammer festivities.

Great seeing him back and he's such a character. Swagger....Best defensive defensemen in a while and for me personally.....you give me Chelios, Keith and Hammer all in their primes and I need a shutdown shift....I am going with Hammer. What a pit bull he was....was never sexy but never was noticeable and rarely was beaten. Fact he broke down and Bowman traded him for Murphy still chaps my ass and I recall the day reading here about the great leadership of Murphy because he wore letters on the Team USA JV squad at the Worlds.....

The major issue I see for the forseeable future is who is going to lead this team and set the example? Saw Kane back checking a TON last night. DeBrincat plays hard....but when you get to the back end all we have are these BS cliche quotes from guys like Murphy and Jones and then they go out and $hit the bed at the absolute wrong time...case in point....Jones horrific flip to give up that tying goal. What happens if these 2 are ever exposed to playoff hockey and the ramped up physicality and intensity that comes with it? Are we looking at Oduya vs Phoenix turnstyle of turnovers?

He's wound extra tight. They bow out again without winning 16 games and he's going to detonate.

What will be refreshing is we as fans will likely get a little more transparency vs the McEgo led lock down. I can't even recall many, if any, interviews Bowman did mid-season and being open about his approach, etc. THought Davidson was pretty good last night with Eddie O, and Eddie O asked more tough questions in 2 minutes then the entire Hawks beat pool of lap dogs have in the last 10+ years.

I don't know if Kubalik is having that off year like DeBrincat had.....the one thing I'll say about DeBrincat that year he was still getting tons of chances and just having tough luck. I don't know if that's the case with Kubalik where he's getting the same amount of chances and just off due to confidence, etc....or if the league has figured him out and doesn't allow him to set up for his shot. He does seem to fan on a lot of shots this year where he could be pressing.

Strome....if they can get a 2nd round pick for him...take it and RUN. If they can get a 3rd round pick...I'd be happy.

Hawks need to get more guys who drive their own lines and less passengers. Too many guys are far too reliant on being paired with guys above their skill level to produce consistently. For depth? sure....but it seems to me they have far too many.

Thought Dach was moving well last night.

Think we need to pump the brakes on a few guys as some of these guys may be going balls out to showcase themselves to be dealt. Carpenter has been a lot better lately....same with DeHaan.

I'm all for keeping the young players, offer sheet Kubalik and see if he has a better year next year, since he doesn't have much trade value now.

Try to trade everyone on an expiring contract who isn't a RFA.

Between the Dots

If KD is paying Kubalik $44 mil. next year he should be fired. And Kubalik hockey wise is not young, he will be 27 next year.

- LAHawk
kubalik will not be on the team next year imo.

I think Entwhistle skates better than Stone. Stone is Strome slow
- LAHawk

Stone works his tail off and his hockey IQ is a lot better. When watching him he seems to be around the puck a lot. He'll be back for the playoffs

After watching us play the Oil the last two games, they seem so far from the Avs' level. What a shame with Draisaital and McDavid on the roster. But you never know what happens in the playoffs if the Oil can get in.

I'd love to see an Avs vs the Bolts in the final. Man would that be must watch TV even after the Bolts lost their entire 3rd line.

That's debatable, but I am talking more along the lines of how to use his body and then anticipate plays. He kind of already reminds me of stone in that regard. He's just not quite as good at it though
- GPHawksfan

There is a lot to like about Entwistle game if can continue to progress could turn out to be real effective player.

Perhaps his shots are down because teams don't give him the space to get it off anymore?

Not bad but the Hawks don't need a one dimensional 4 mil plus player. Can go find Brandon Pirri..... he can prob pot you 20g if you give him 2 plus mins of PP time a game.

- bhawks2241

Patrick Sharp made a pretty good career being a 1 dimensional player...
