All quiet on trade rumors what are thoughts on who should go who should the build around during the supposed rebuild?

I'm all for keeping the young players, offer sheet Kubalik and see if he has a better year next year, since he doesn't have much trade value now.

Try to trade everyone on an expiring contract who isn't a RFA.

Was nice to see JT, TJ and Stillman back in the lineup. Thought they looked pretty good throughout and were generating more high danger chances overall.

They'll need this kind of effort or better on Sunday.

Thanks Theo. New updated info on our 3rd line center. The Hawks record with King when Toews is in the lineup is now, 16-11-2, all while still not 100%, food for thought.

When ADB scored, Kane was jumping up and down almost as much as the goal he scored in game 6 in 2010. Is he really going to embrace the rebuild?

If KD is paying Kubalik $44 mil. next year he should be fired. And Kubalik hockey wise is not young, he will be 27 next year.

19 takes a lot of crap here, but he’s still their best center, a quality NHL player, and every GM in the league would like to have him on their roster.

I hope he resigns for a reasonable amount and retires a Blackhawk.

I concur. Except for the failed alley oop in the final minute, S. Jones looked every part of a #1 defenseman last night. Stillman only got 14 minutes in his first game back, but he looked solid. deHaan is increasing his trade value, maybe get a second for him? If Hagel is not traded, an energy line of Hagel, Laferty, Entwhistle would be fun to watch.

Agree on Jones though I thought Hagel, Dach and Entwistle looked decent last night and would like to see King keep them together for a while.

Forget his goal, Lafferty had a good game. Not the highest IQ, average hands at best, but his speed makes a difference.

Their passing and flow looked better in person with the three injured guys back. They deserved the win last night.

Bouchard is a million miles away from being a legit NHL D man. Very shaky.

Evander Kane is a hell of a hockey player when he wants to be.

Here's a news flash - McDavid has foot speed like I've never seen. Quick and really fast. Amazing player.

Nurse grew out of the Bambi legs and is very smooth now. Hopefully Dach, Entwhistle, and most of their D prospects do the same. Just takes time.

They have to get a muzzle on the guy with the microphone during timeouts. Way loud and obnoxious. Feels and sounds minor league to me. Guy is brutal.

Another news flash - without the bad start and injuries it looked last night that they could have been a team nipping at a wild card spot. All in all I had fun there last night and it was nice to be back in the building.

Still a point per game with Hawks, on one knee, amazing. Best player in league history, IMHO.

I think 8 has a bounce back next year.

If they can sign him for a fair price I would take a shot at it,

I think you meant $4 million, no the point is to maximize a controlled asset, you offer sheet him and hope he has a better season next year so you could get a better offer at the trade deadline. It's not like you are going to lose a valuable piece next year due to salary cap implications.

When you qualify Kubalik it's basically the same as the Blues are paying Saad. I'll go to the open market with my $4+ mil. before I pay Kubalik that much.

He has to be qualified at $4 mil. or he can go FA. I would rather get that 5th round pick for him, he is uterly useless. I don't care how many shots he had. His turnovers in his own zone and at center ice are mindboggling. Also, did you see the one play he was 1 on 1 against the defenseman? He was shut down worse than John Scott would be. He cannot come near being able to create his own shot.

Then this rebuild will take forever with that mind set.

It takes a bunch of different combinations of players on teams to be successful. If we can put Kubs in a position to succeed his value will go up.

I agree that Kubalik does not have much trade value. A 4th rounder at best. I have a feeling they may try to hammer out a short term deal for less than the qualifying offer level. If he wants to leave he passes and moves on. If he wants to leave you don’t want him around anyway.
I don’t think you want to pay Strome less than Kubalik. Of course they both could be gone after the TDL or before the draft.

Although he has minus finishing skills, Lafferty checks a lot of boxes. Fast, physical, young, cheap.

Also nice to see Entwistle continue to develop. Lots more confidence in his game.

Keeping 27 year old overpaid players that aren't going to get any better will forestall the rebuild forever.

I was wondering what their record was with Toews minus JC, thanks.

Yea Johnny is still a solid hockey player, have a feeling though one more concussion he's done. Same thing is happening to him that happened to Shaw, taking longer and longer to come back from which is a terrible sign. I do hope no more head trauma for 19 or any other Blackhawks
