Worst professional organization in sports !! Think about that for a minute.
- Hawkytalk

Not even close. Washington Football Team. Coyotes play in a 5,000 seat arena next 2 seasons. NY Mets. Pittsburgh Pirates. Chicago Bears (maybe the worst ownership in sports). There are a lot of bad organizations.

And remember, under Rocky’s ownership they have 3 Stanley Cups. There are dozens of franchises in major sports that have never won a championship, ever. Seattle Mariners, LA Chargers, MN Vikings, etc.

For Hawkytalk, here are the teams in the 4 major NA sports that have NEVER won a Championship. It's a longer list than you'd think.

MLB - Rockies, Brewers, Padres, Rays, Rangers
NBA- Nets, Hornets, Nuggets, Pacers, Clippers, Grizzles, Timberwolves, Pelicans, Magic, Suns, Jazz
NFL - Cardinals, Falcons, Bills, Panthers, Bengals, Browns, Lions, Texans, Jaguars, Chargers, Vikings, Titans
NHL - Coyotes, Sabres, Blue Jackets, Panthers, Wild, Predators, Senators, Sharks, Canucks, Golden Knights, Jets (Kraken likely added to the list this year).

Its not so easy. As I recall, the Blackhawks, under this ownership group, have 3 Stanley Cups in the last 12 years.

Well, the team has been bad for 5 years, but the Organization just this year has become the WORST in all of professional sports. It is a total disgrace and I'll be amazed if their season ticket base doesn't drop by 50 % or more next year. This team may not see the playoffs for 5 to 10 years ? Time to sell Mr. Wirtz while you have some value left. Actually..........it may probably already be too late. So Sad.

Oh ye of short memory. It's probably more of a hometown bias thing. Scottak named a bunch but Dan Snyder and the escapades of the WFT easily beats anything that was done at the hands of the current Wirtz's.

Also, again I'm no accountant or CPA (heart tap and point skyward for Sage), but I'm pretty sure Rocky's not selling a hockey team he's "losing money on".

I'm sure it helps lower his taxable footprint vs. all the Wirtz family's more profitable ventures.

They won 3 Cups in short order after he took over so also, careful what you wish for.

I was really worried they were seriously entertaining hiring a basketball or baseball person to run the hockey part of this franchise. That would of been a disaster

Yeah I’m so glad the Hawks didn’t have a baseball guy running the team when they won three cups or it would have been a disaster.

Rockford has lost 6 of 7 and playing themselves out of a playoff spot, and giving up lots of goals. Seems like the young defenseman down there need even more time. I am so glad KD had taken an axe to the scouting dept. Now maybe they can stop the disinformation campaign and admit our pipeline currently makes us the Coyotes/Buffalo of this decade.

But let’s blame bench coaching for lack of talent in the system.

- LAHawk

Let’s blame the coaches for bad coaching and the GM and that group for drafting and trades. Plenty of blame to go around.

Oh so Jamie Faulkner should be making all the player decisions like i guess you think McDonough did?

Oh and i guess the cover up wasn't a disaster to you?

More of that from Dach, please!

There was a confidence in that sequence that you don't see when he's playing with the star vets.

It's too bad it would be impossible to get an uninformed (i.e., hindsight 20/20 and all that) list of who KD would have drafted in the years since he's been here and how similar or different it would have been to what Kelley and Bowman, McD and Rocky did.

He is a self-proclaimed talented scout, but we have no ability to see that proven except with time and the choice he and his team make.

This article definitely isn't kind to the recent Hawks history in this department: https://theathletic.com/3...source=emp-shared-article

Kelley got complacent, lost his mojo, or something...

So you know what I think?

You said “ I was really worried they were seriously entertaining hiring a basketball or baseball person to run the hockey part of this franchise.”. McDonough ran the team did he not? You said you did want a baseball guy running the franchise, did you not?

I have no idea if McDonough had any input into player decisions, some seem to think he did, other he didn’t. Obviously no one wants a non hockey guy making direct hockey moves. But there is no real need to have a hockey guy as President.

Even Foley stumping for Strome this afternoon.

I'm going to be very curious to see what KD decides to do with #17.

I'm speaking specifically about the developments of this past year. NO team in professional sports has gone to ROCK BOTTOM both on and off the ice. I would've thought you would understood that ? Yeah Scott everybody on this board knows this organization has won 3 cups since 2010. Sorry you didn't get that.

Yes, Kane was definitely pumping his tires, saying as Foley just did that when given the chance, Dylan can create good things.

It would be nice if he could maintain this current level of play and continue to help the team this year and beyond. His effort and output are obviously affected more than some by coaching decisions that are in opposition to how he views himself (e.g., being put on a grinding line v. with the offense generating lines), so that makes betting on him a risk unless you see him sticking in the top 6.

Wow, you like hyperbole. There are 7 NHL teams with fewer points than the Hawks. ARI is going to play in a 5,000 seat college arena the next 2 seasons. And don’t get me started about the Washington Football Team. Might want to do some research on that.

We get your point, you’re disgruntled.

Read up on the NFL team in Washington DC. Maybe some of Dan Snyder's shenanigans might change your mind.

Agree, since he is the only center that seems to have chemistry with Kane (2022 version of Toews does not), I see him next year on the top 6.
