Two hours and no one is arguing about whether it was a good or bad hit? I'm impressed. Apparently it's so taboo a subject not even Steve wants to touch on it. |

I'll be your huckleberry: it was a clean hit. |

Yeah, clean hit; unfortunate result. Would love to hear some updates on MacKinnon, but doubt the Avs will say much. |

Sikura has been recalled, take that for whatever it's worth. |

It was a clean hit, just unfortunate Mack's stick busted him open. Landy was still right in going after Hall to send a message though. Happy they found a way because for 40 min they looked more interested in punishing Hall than playing hockey. |

They only needed like 13 minutes of hockey to beat the Bruins |

Yeah too bad it won't fly come playoffs. Ullmark was a beast last night, I thought he was going to steal it. |

I'm not as surprised that no one is talking about last night's hit on Mack as much as no one talked about the BS overtime "too many men" call that cost the Av's a point a couple weeks ago. I still think that ref should be relegated to Peewee Hockey.
I have to say however that I am glad Landy went after Hall and I knew Hall would be a wimp and run. Even Chris Perry stood up to fight in the playoffs last yr when he accidentally ran over Tavares. |

Avs offense is too high octane when they are healthy like this (also hope Mack ends up being ok). I think they have proven quite a few times this year that they can flip a switch and come back. Very few teams can match their speed and skill. |

A fellow traveler! still pissed about that, and the other, both Nashville games (Rona bowl and zapruder skates). Our only 2 losses in like 6 weeks have such huge asterisks on them.
But the hit? No. I’m sorry. Just semantically you can’t call a hit clean that results in a pool of blood on the ice and the second best player in the nhl in a dark room. Just because Mackinnon is injured by his own stick by no means excuses Hall’s chicken wing, without which all this trouble could have been avoided. |

Why should Hall fight when it was a clean hit. It was Macks own stick that did the damage for crying out loud. Yeeesh.
And I'm the last person to defend any Habs players but that was pretty stupid of Foligno to challenge Perry. I'm embarrassed to have that plug on the team I cheer for.

It was late and it was high. Everyone is excusing the hit because his stick brained him, but if his stick hadn't have been there it would have been Hall's shoulder in to his chin. |

chicken wing? Elbow looked tucked all the way through. what's Mac's stick doing pointed at the ceiling? Maybe you (and him) think "the second best player in the nhl" should be able to skate the rink unimpeded? Keep your stick down and none of this happens. no way a buck80 player takes down Mac if his stick is down on the ice, where it should be. |

late = interference penalty.
Wasn't high. But if Mack carried his stick below the shoulders wouldn't have been a problem.
Guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Yeah, late hits are interference, that's fine. Not wanting a suspension or anything and I don't think the outcome was in any way intended, but it was still reckless.
We'll have to, because I can't help but wonder if it's any worse or not if he's clipped in the chin with a shoulder instead of hit in the face with his own stick. |
