Would be more satisfying if they weren't so pathetic this year.
But I'll take it.

I hope it burned. Just a little. It's way more fun when both teams are good but I happened to be at the garden for the 1st time since Nov. 2019. Celebrated a bit

Did you start the "we want Tuukka" chant with Ullmark in net? I probably appreciate Tuukka more than the next guy but I cant say i would be thrilled if i were Ullmark. He has had a solid couple weeks. Won 7 of the last 8 against mainly good teams.

Agreed, not good form. Have to wonder what is going on in Ullmark's head right now. |

No. That was the drunk bumholes in the balcony. I was luckily and thankfully high browing it in a box. Ullmark didn't deserve that.
For any one who comments or lurks and you where one of those people...(frank) you. (frank) you very much. Absolute trash.

Yeah I didn't like it at all. Ullmark is likely going to be a part of the tandem for the next four years. Was undeserved for sure.
The chant was probably more pro-Tuukka than Anti-Ullmark but it still sucked.

Management got both big question marks this past off-season completely wrong. I think they fully expected Krejci back and fully expected Rask to hang up the skates. |

Is the team not starting to show you that maybe management brought in some right pieces? Ullmark has turned his play around. Haula looks good with Hall. Nosek is a solid 4th line center. The organizational depth is on display. Mcavoy misses a game. Doesnt matter. Players have constantly been going out with injury or covid and they are still putting together W's. In pretty solid fashion.
Enjoy the wins.
Also, one player that hasnt been mentioned much is Anton Blidh. He has actually turned a corner. He has been solid.

Haula was never planned to be 2C but he has filled in there well thus far and I didn't say there weren't good signings. My focus is on the Ullmark decision. Yes, he has played better lately but they handcuffed themselves with the NMC. Imagine if they had some flexibility with Ullmark's contract right now? They had to completely take the wind out the sails of their supposed future goalie because that was the only option... |

Tuukka played in Providence for two years before the NHL and he turned out just fine. Swayman has played 9 games in Providence. He will get his chance to earn his spot when the time comes.
The Bruins obviously felt that Tuukka was needed for a reason. |

Nope.
Ulmark at another 3 yrs after this for $5M? You think Rask is gonna sign another show-me-ur-healthy contract for minimum?
Coyle has not worked out well at all as 2C. They could have upgraded that position with money saved by not signing Ulmark. And our very good "rookie" G will not be getting any playing time.
Yeah they've won some games lately and that's great. But they are not out of the woods Cap-wise. Coyle and Ulmark contracts won't help us improve, and there's kind of an important contract that ends soon. And Pasta's bargain-basement contract ends year after that.

This.
Was going to respond to what you did myself but you summed it up nicely. When this team can sustain this output consistently I'll believe it. Haula I have my doubts about long term. And anyone saying Swayman needs to "prove himself" should go rewatch the games Swayman lost and see exactly how much help he got. I get it, Business decision and goalie log jam. But it is still nothing short of a complete management disaster.
The problems still exist. A few wins are great, and I will enjoy them all. Let's see if it can be sustained. |

Honestly man, we are just incredibly fortunate that Swayman has a good attitude about it. He could have taken it worse and it would have been justified. He is bailing Sweeney out if a huge mistake. If he plays a single game in Providence next year because they haven't fixed the goalie thing I wouldn't be surprised at all if he asks to play somewhere that will put him in the NHL. Call it over reacting if you want, but if I'm Swayman management is on incredibly thin ice with me

You’re reaching so hard with this Swayman “controversy” dudes 23, under team control and has played like 40 total pro hockey games. Name a goalie that started calling the shots at that point in his career |

Anyone still having doubts about splitting up the "Perfection" line?
Having two lines as scoring threat makes a world of difference. |

How sweet was Bergeron’s touch / redirect pass on goal #1 today. |

I understand you think it's all an overreaction. I might have said the same thing a few years back. This isnt a normal demotion. Being a goalie can be 100% a confidence game in development. Best scenario I can give is Brodeur. Hall of famer yes. Looking back, his early work was above average and spectacular at times but not world beating in the first few years. However new Jersey stuck with it and got a goalie that currently has few equals in most categories.
Is Swayman that? I think he could be. We won't know by demoting him. He won't get the chance. That's my point. Can't foster the talent when it has potential to be world beating. And the confidence hit of being sent down can go either way. |
