yeah, I might be naive but I'm not that worried about the slippery slope, as I do believe we'll be returning to a somewhat "normal" situation in a near future, without any of these intense governmental intrusions to acquire more and more control over the population.

It's (frank)ing true...Pacifism doesn't work due to human nature and history has proven that over and over again...it would work a poop ton better if there's a credible defensive threat behind it.

Either way, I trust no government figure to do anything other than make self serving decisions to help them remain in power and to enrich their families...and that lack of trust has been justified over and over again through history including a lot of recent history

Do this or get taxed is a slippery slope and I'm using great exaggeration to make a point but it isn't as far off as you may think.

Spinach will make you healthier. By not eating spinach you may cause an undue burden on the health system. Therefore eat your spinach or pay a tax.

I'd like everybody to make the smart choices but I want government the (frank) outta my life and business and I have no faith they'll relax their power grabs and over reach if or when society gets through Covid

Meh, I fully understand where you are coming from but idiots could also just get on with the program and the 220 years old technique and we woudn't need to do it ( AKA, just get vaccinated)

Again...I'd prefer people make smart decisions on their own but the second people accept government mandating things beyond their power or creating illegitimate taxes to further their agenda I say in principle alone "no". The issue itself shouldn't matter, you either say government should be able to do whatever they want with unchecked power or you say no. I firmly say no.

"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

not sure about other provinces but in Quebec the unvaccinated are costing us about 1 million per day, so as much as I find the vaccine tax to be unfortunate I kind of understand the logic behind it.

Everybody understand the logic, that's not the question. Question is can they do something iffy (or on the limit) because its logic ?

People who don't care about health measures since the begging are going to gather anyway. Worse, they'll stay the night instead, so even more exposition.

The vaccine tax, like a ton of marketing experts said, is just a vague smoke show that make us avoid talking about Arruda leaving, ventilation systems or really really helping the health workers. And it worked like magic.

I thought it would be possible to implement the tax and address other issues as well, but perhaps you're right.

It's one of those weird situations where not only did the Leafs lose but to the one opponent the Habs need to get some more (frank)ing points.

Also, (frank) me the Habs suck.

actually there has been recent data showing that the curfews did have a positive impact on the virus spread (as much as I hate to admit it lol).

also Legeault would look pretty (frank)ing dumb to blame that on Arruda since he was clearly in favor of that measure every time it was announced.

Eklund has them as contenders and not pretenders, so I don't understand this post.
