noice, I hope it is indeed true. and I'm sure our anti-vaxxing friends will consider this as a huge victory, as they did with Arruda giving his resignation lol

They want to extend the vaccine passport to beauty salons, hairdressers...also to some superstores like Canadian Tire for example.

I really wish they would name someone not tied to the CAQ as head of Public Health

ugh, the god damn passport... I guess it's still better than being confined.

and yeah a politically independent doctor would be more appropriate, I agree.

I get hairdressers/salons...sort of they are in and around your head, but wtf does Canadian Tire do that justifies it?

I guess the "logic" is bigger store = more people at the same time = higher contamination risk...

I hope they'll have something in place to quickly verify the QR codes, cuz yeah it could potentially become a nightmare, both for the staff and customers.

And in a way, that’s to appease little store owners who are still p ed off that they had to shut down at one point but big stores didn’t…really feels like the gvnt is just improvising now lol

at times it feels like they've been improvising since the beginning... lots of dumb decisions have been taken but I sure wouldn't want to be the one having to take these decisions either, holy.

Well, at first they didn’t have a choice since no one knew anything about this crap but now, in the 5th wave and Europe always dealing with it months before us, they could be better prepared there id no excuse anymore

I'm long beyond accepting the excuses of government for their severe over reach and power grabs but they keep making greater over reach and grabbing more power

Australia taxes the unvaxxed something like $5k USD every 3 months. If that's allowed what's to stop an eat your spinach tax, for example? Seriously...the slope gets slippery

not sure how it gets from a vaccination tax to a spinach tax, but I do understand your concerns about potential exaggerations that never end.

Do this or get taxed is a slippery slope and I'm using great exaggeration to make a point but it isn't as far off as you may think.

Spinach will make you healthier. By not eating spinach you may cause an undue burden on the health system. Therefore eat your spinach or pay a tax.

I'd like everybody to make the smart choices but I want government the (frank) outta my life and business and I have no faith they'll relax their power grabs and over reach if or when society gets through Covid

yeah, I might be naive but I'm not that worried about the slippery slope, as I do believe we'll be returning to a somewhat "normal" situation in a near future, without any of these intense governmental intrusions to acquire more and more control over the population.
