yup, but thankfully this is HB, where rocket scientists are not a thing... - Pat1993
If many HB users were rocket scientists, especially the bunch of armchair GMs over in Meltzer's Flyers blogs (one of them used the term "rocket surgeon," but I believe it was on purpose for lols), this is how the test launches would look like (from one of my favorite all-time movies):
My favourite is the last one. That was the actual Mercury-Redstone 1 (MR-1) unmanned test launch. The film edited it for effect, removing the firing and launch of the escape tower while the rocket was still on the launchpad (the distance shots, before the button-press, used a Mercury-Atlas launch, while the closeup shot was from the actual MR-1 test). This link shows the actual whole "launch" sequence (starting at about 1:12 if you don't want to see the whole vid with the guy's explanation): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufVMsw03gAo
EDIT: It is interesting how they figured out what to do in the end with a fully-fueled "live" rocket without hitting the range safety's destruct button, and the steps they took not to let it happen in the future. That's really what actual testing (no sims) is for!
Nice!!!! What year would be your ideal Corvette? I'm a huge fan and would love a 68 or 69 Stingray. And if not, the new ones are crazy beautiful and powerful. They don't have the illegal L88 engine, but modern tech has turned them into beasts.
